    Intimate

Emmett had deliberately turned off his cell phone while he’d been in Killarney, though he’d taken an emergency burner phone for the students and other lecturers to call in case of any problems. None had arisen, and it was with a classic post-camping mixture of sadness, satisfaction, and longing for society and real beds, that the students took down their tents and packed up their gear. It had been a very good trip, with perfect weather and many excellent animal sightings. The students had collec
  2. Issac never says how old he is, but he and the Z brothers are the same age. He's a head chef - so he's older than 25! You have to watch the time line and the dates, it jumps around a lot. I'm glad you enjoyed the book. Thank you for the review.
  3. that's because Togo was actually the lead dog who did the most work, but since Balto was the one who showed up with the anti-toxin in Nome, and he had cool distinctive markings, he was the one who got famous. I don't feel so bad for Togo and Leonard Seppala though, because after making a film about the run, Balto and his team were sold, and sold, and sold again, and ended their days caged in a roadside museum in the sweltering heat in very poor conditions. Unfortunately Alaska doesn't have the positive and loving history with dogs everyone thinks it does, and whilst they are hugely valued, in the past they were massively mistreated. The reason a lot of dog teams heading north during the gold rush were so incredibly huge was so that they could be killed and eaten along the way. As far as I remember from the book, Togo and his master went back to work running through the Interior, and never thought about being famous ever again.
  4. Didn't I do an entry for that? I know there was a reason I wrote Amateur Night, beyond the obvious You should run another competition soon, it was awesome.

thanks, and I agree. They're sweet, with lots of unexplored possibilities.
  6. Afternoon y'all, how are we doing? I thought it might be sensible to rekindle this topic to keep interested parties (if there are any anymore) abreast of the going's on. Y'know, especially since I buggered off with a sort of finality and lots of people assumed I'd fallen off the edge of the planet and was never coming back or anything. As far as I know, and I'm not usually the best person to ask when it comes to this, I'm back and I'm writing. There are people up there in my head, chatting away and demanding things, so in between caring for my little person down here, that's what I'll be doing - though tomorrow during nap time I need to grout the downstairs bathroom. So the current projects are: Fallen Pride - which is updating every wednesday, and might hopefully resolve Kiorl's lingering loneliness, though how well remains to be seen. Tiger Winter - which was actually written for NaNoWriMo back in 2014. This was the one I hoped to do a Kickstarter for, only to have a monumental lack of interest, so you're getting it 2 years late and in it's 2 pass edited state, rather than as a finished polished printed novel. D and R - which is a placeholder title, because a decent title is yet to be found. Another shifter novel, set in Portland, Maine, and involving jaguars. Beyond that, I'm not at liberty to say. It's going well though, for me, not for the characters. Oh, and if anyone has any anthology inspiration for me, please shout!

always welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed them.
  8. The answer to that question depends entirely how much of my brain is my imagination, and how much is divine insanity! But The Demon Del Deorion and Nassau are friends, not that Deorion is actually a demon... I'm glad you liked! thank you!
  9. He's my pick! I got sort of strong-armed into going to see Jeepers Creepers 2 with a bunch of my former friends, and my ex with his new beau back when I was a teenager. It was hands down the most uncomfortable thing I’d ever done until I introduced my parents-in-law to my parents. Al Santos at least gave me something positive to focus my attention on!

Well what do you buy the boy who wants a sword?

    536 - Longing

I'll hold my hands up and say, I literally went online to try and find a car called "eagle", and I picked the station wagon, though I'm not sure I actually said that in the story. People love cars for very different reasons. I adored my truck, though my good friend and mechanic Dave declared it to be a heap of shite, and had no idea why I hadn't just gone and bought a shiny Mitsubishi tank... I think Devon is going to be much much to excited when he gets his present to do anything other than storm off into the woods looking for orcs...!
  12. “It’s not like it’s a hard choice Devon. What’s more important, a sword or a new car?” I sighed, and leant back against my boyfriend. I hated it when he was being sensible. “I don’t want to pick. I’d rather have a burrito and blow job to be perfectly honest.” “Devon!” Jacob slapped my bicep in mock horror at my suggestion. “You’re so lewd!” He settled himself against the tree, and wrapped his arms more firmly around my abdomen, keeping me pinned. I didn’t mind, because even though it was the

    Chapter 5

you can't always get what you want, but sometimes you get what you need? The demons are not beyond love and empathy, though some admit it far more readily than others! thanks for the review hun
  15. Obviously! but inbetween finding food and shelter and a good supply of water - and not being able to read at night... Six will have to do! God I'm glad I'm not the only who thinks that! I never got further than Clan of the Cave Bear, because to be honest, I was a bit bored of waiting for things to actually happen! Also, DUNE *sigh* Took me two reads to actually understand it, but I think I was a bit young the first time around. It makes the top ten certainly, but not the top six for me. I'm loving reading everyone's choices. I'm so glad I asked!

    Chapter 5

Oh if only you knew.... And we love Nassau, don't we?

    Chapter 5

“Jahke?” The pale demon looked up from his desk, as ever a mess of books, ledgers, loose paper, pens, and ink lit by the soft fizzing of a naphtha lamp. He smiled to see the Prince standing there. “Sire!” Belatedly, Jahke made to stand, and tried to clear his desk at the same time. “Is there anything I can do for you?” Jahke couldn’t help the blush which spread across his pale cheeks. He’d spent a long time scared of Nassau, but since the Prince liked to visit with his oldest friend, and Kiorl
  18. Well done buddy. Well deserved!
  19. I remember reading a version of the beginning of this back when Cassie chose to share it in the Sneak Peaks forum. I loved it then, but somehow never got around to reading it. Just finished chapter 4 and I'm in heaven!
