  1. D&D was cancelled today cause the dungeon master's sick. Last session before Christmas, too. This saddens me, especially since it means our D&D secret Santa will have to wait until the new year. You're supposed to give a thing that your character thinks their character might like. Only I drew the DM, so I have to give him something my character might sacrifice to their deity... I'm a bard who worships Desna, so I wrote a prayer, wrote it out all nice by hand, and I'm getting him a cool Dungeon Master t-shirt that says, 'The weaver of lore and fate. The Gods fear the power that I wield, the dice are my ally and my enemy.'

    A Twist of Kim

Thanks for reading it! I'm really glad you liked it. I had fun writing it.

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it.

It can be a rocky road, that's for sure. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

    A Twist of Kim

It does. When I first met a person who wanted me to use 'they' it took a while before I felt like it flowed naturally in speech. Now it does. There are languages that don't have gendered pronouns at all. Would make the whole thing much easier, but here we are. The more we use it and read it, the more correct it sounds and feels. It's not like the singular they is at all a new thing. Glad you liked the story!

So do I. We're working on it. It will always be a bit clunky in the beginning... Thanks for commenting!

Indeed. Like Kim said, having a preference is fine. It's all in how you express it. Thanks for commenting!
  8. Good morning, DiC! I really need to stop sleeping past noon...
  9. I've put up a new short story, and now I'm off to bed. Goodnight, everyone!
  10. ‘There you go.’ I placed two pints of lager on the counter, and the customer paid for it. With no one else queueing up, I took to wiping down the counter. My eyes fell on one of the people seated at the bar. I had served them a cocktail about twenty minutes ago. They had hot pink hair in an undercut, and wore a short green skirt and white halter top. Sleeve tattoos snaked up lean, brown arms, and a man had just decided to strike up a conversation with them. ‘What are you?’ the man asked.
  11. Conrad is desperately bored serving drinks at the gay bar where he works, until one day Kim shows up, and Kim is anything but boring. Rated for language.
  12. I’m such an Elder Scrolls nerd that not only have I read the translation, I’ve tried singing it. In both languages. There are so many cool songs and poems in Elder Scrolls lore, though. At my worst I’d browse uesp.net for literally hours daily reading up on lore. I obsess.
  13. I feel the following is relevant to our interests.
  14. Haven’t read it, but I have some experience with readers making demands... Don’t blame him one bit.
  15. Ouch. Poor Mike. Hope it gets better soon! ❤️

Thank you for reading it! Glad you could identify. There’s a lot of me in Jeff as well, specifically the crippling self doubt.
  17. Just a little longer now. You can do it!
  18. Yeah, trying to. Gonna try and maybe get some writing done, might take my mind off things.
  19. By far the more rational choice. Ugh, I'm having one of those days where I just feel like I'm screwing up in every social interaction I have, online or IRL... Icky anxious feeling in my stomach.

Here's hoping. And yeah, Valentine's Day is certainly one of the clearest examples of capitalism run amok. Thanks for commenting!
  21. Morning, DiC! ❤️ I personally feel that painkillers are a healthier alternative than hair of the dog... And while coffee is bad for you when hungover, caffeine can be beneficial. Depending on how bad the hangover is, of course. My three step hangover cure is sleep, water, and aspirin with caffeine in it.
  22. I'm off to get some sleep. Goodnight, everyone!
  23. I'm my own worst critic, and I'm terrible at following my own advice, but be kind to yourself, sweet.
  24. I get really forgetful like that too, sometimes. I'm sure your friends will understand. They'd better, cause you're awesome.
