Me too, kinda. I was posting an original story to AO3 and a reader recommended I go to GA. So I did. I've been writing fanfic for 16 years.
Maybe you should write some of your own.
This is perfectly true, and they may yet learn. Although, they won't learn anything unless someone tells them.
I hear ya about the journey, Gary. I've quoted this all over the place before, but Gene Wolf once said to Neil Gaiman, when Neil told him he thought he'd finally figured out how to write a novel (paraphrased), 'You never learn how to write a novel. You only learn how to write the novel you're on.' Always a journey, and we are always learning.
Learning how to function a little better’s a good start. Then gonna look for some work. Might be able to find a sound internship somewhere, that would be great.
