Hmmmmmmmmmmm, I wonder if this is a slow seduction. I can't remember what Dizzy looks like or how well a 16 year old like him is built. I hope he's built in all the right places. markM .... now don't you get ahead of the story.

If there was one thing missing in my life, it was a female bestie. But, then even as a lad, most of my playmates were the boys in my immediate neighbourhood. I'm trying to work on imagining the physical sides of Ky and Dizzy. I don't quite remember that part. We're beginning chapter seven. I'll probably have to re-read the first six chapters for clues. Is Ky tall and lanky. Not even a decent description in his surfing outfit. Is Dizzy a fellow closing in on the 5'10 side, well packed and put together side of things. You'er the storyteller here Aceinthehole, why do I have to work things out. I definitely need a picture book. I can wrap my imagination around those........

I don't see. Maybe it's because I never went surfing. Perhaps it was because the CCG didn't have a patrol boat and a helicopter on standby. But to have two suitors on the same day? Well! I never.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, choices, choices. I'm only at this stage of the story and I am willing to put a crown down that they are not boyfriend-girlfriend but very close friends who tell each other everything. As for Dizzy and Ky? I reserve my druthers for now.

I remember my first trip to the big City. We, my Father and I, boarded a Country street car. Not as small as the City street cars but not as big as a railway carriage either. It took us to the Rail station on the southern side of the St. Lawrence River (before the Seaway was built). There we waited a bit until this huge chuggernaut of a steam train slowly came to a stop. My dad told me it had come all the way from the Ocean and would take us across the bridge to the Central Station in the big city. When I asked my Father how far the Ocean was, he told that if I was to travel by the train that would go in the opposite direction, I would arrive there tomorrow afternoon. On that first trip he took me to the Waterfront and I saw my first great big boat. My Father had put me on his shoulders so I could watch the goings on as the great ship was docked alongside the pier. After a long wait, I saw soldiers, lots and lots of them, coming off the Ship. My Father impressed on me that I should never forget for I was watching a shipload of Canadian soldiers returning from the war in a place called Europe. So, I know how impressed our young Artie must have been seeing his first huge bridge.

Well! Young Artie was blessed in a way. He had family. In my case, after we had rested my father in the ground, my oldest and youngest of my Uncles drove us home. And once there, they invited me and my younger brother to sit on the rear tailgate of my late Grandfather's beautiful maroon coloured Packard. Now, that car was the bees knees. Anyway, my uncles decided it was time to set the record straight. My brother and I were not blood so we couldn't expect anything from the family. It took me a little time to let that rattle round my brain but then it dawned on me. We, my brother and me, were not of their blood. We were adopted only because our Mother could not carry any of several pregnancies to term. So! Now we were basically left on our own with our Mother who had nothing but a pittance of a widow's pension, no life insurance and a whopping $10,000 funeral bill. Now if that wasn't a new beginning, you'd be wrong. Just like Artie, we'd eventually leave our village for the big City.

From my perspective, this is a realistic start. My father passed away when I was but 12 and working as a caddy during the summer months at the local golf course. I remember being at the Caddy shop when the call came in and my running from the 1st hole to the 6th hole to get home. The way some people looked at me, I felt they already knew. My dad who had grown so far apart from my brother and I and our mother in recent months, was dead. How many other real young people have experienced the heartache the young man of this story and I suffered through and, yes, some of us are survivors. I am now in my 81st year so I know of what I speak.

I am rather sad to see and read the last chapter in the Bridgemont Saga. It is, as are all the chapters, only but a glimpse of what and how the days of Iron Men and Wooden Ships must have unfolded. Men fighting the seas and their enemies on wooden ships which all but challenge our modern minds and more importantly, our imaginations. Only three periods of history have ever fascinated me. And even in my 80th year, I still love to read books written of what historians or legend writers perceive were the Days of the Boy/King Alexander the Great; or the days of the 18th Dynasty of Egypt; or, yet still, the Days of Sail. My sincerest congratulations to Mark for having brought back a period in history now passed into legend. It has been a most enjoyable read.

I don't know about Freddie and Devina. Were I the Illustrious and most Noble King, I would dispatch him to South Africa. They are leeches who only have a title because he was first born, not because he ever did anything of substance. The brat and his wife wouldn't even serve the King in Bermuda claiming a sea trip might hurt the unborn child which is probably George's anyway. George should have been advanced to his own Earldom. I love these stories from the days of wooden ships and iron men.

I have read many of the books written by the Authors whose subjects cover the days of wooden ships and men. Among them was Alexander Kent whose books I most thoroughly enjoyed. And, I would put you, Mr. Arbour, among their company. Thank you for this story and I look forward to further stories of our good Captain as he takes HMS Bacchante under his command. A little aside. I wonder if Llewellin will e or get as close to Granger as bis beloved Winkler?

A very good start-up Chapter. Too bad, but necessary to the story, the 74-75 men, women and children had to be murdered. I am certain the payback will be awesome and final.

The first two chapters indicate that this story is going somewhere but it doesn't yet give a clear indication as to where that is. So! We know Nathaniel is gay. Obviously he hasn't given away his secret to anyone else other than Lana. He hasn't found a boyfriend yet. And now he's in a cab with a driver who might be putting the moves on him but there's no description of the taxi driver or why Nathaniel would be attracted to him. (That just my take on the first two chapters and, I admit, I might have missed a detail or two.)

Wolves I know; Elves I know because of my Irish Foster Father; werewolves' I know; but I still have no idea what a Neko is or looks like.

Well! Wasn't that somewhat of a grand finale. The two hoods down but not dead, the army comes to the rescue and as a reward, one of our heroes gets himself shot for his troubles. Glad to see Mark came out of this little farcus, maybe a little roughed by the hoods but doesn't have any other serious medical challenges. Like Chris 191070, I also think there is someone who was on the inside. Hmmmmm, maybe Mark is not all that he has been cracked up to be? Maybe one of the military chaps is working against the? But, there is definitely a fly in the ointment.

The Military, whether American, Canadian, British or Australian always seem to get involved where it does not concern them. But, if it doesn't concern them, they will often fabricate the ways & means to ensure that whatever it is, does involve them. I wonder what the damn Military want now?

Well, while I don't think the criminals have given up the fight, I think the boys and their new friend will be safer at the new residence. We'll see what we will see.

A rather neat chapter. The pot is boiling. I don't think Travis would be hiding out on Stef's yacht. It would be nice though, wouldn't it. The two boys being able to screw their brains out, continue to explore the boundaries of their relationship with neither Mommy and the 'not' daddy aware. suspecting, maybe. Oh, the juiciness of the suspense is wonderful.

Well! Now that we have all the Honours and Privy Council Appointments to the satisfaction of those to whom the honours were granted and bestowed. The next questions to be asked is .....when can we expect our Earl of Brentwood to be raised to suitable rank at the Admiralty and given another ship from which to fly his flag in command of a Squadron (probably in the Northern Fleet or there's still Nelson to be dealt with or did I miss that part) and where does the newly minted Earl of Rugby get sent off to to carry out the King's pleasure. I'd think the Russian court could withstand a light gale.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm. And this to where, exactly?

Yehhhhhhhhhhhhhh, It was a marvelous story. I hope there are other stories following Kip & Joshua and the Lloyds Family adventures.

I was also wondering about Granger going back to sea and who would look after the children. On the other hand, there may be a change in Ambassadors to the Court of Imperial Russia. I certainly don't see a change in careers for Granger but I don't know about Daventry.

I'm not really sure I want to or need to follow Ludwig & Caden unless somehow we travel back in time to when Ludwig was King. I loved the sudden announcement that Sam is asexual. But...buttttttt, is he really? Perhaps once or twice after getting into whipping Julius' ass, the relationship will change. For both their sakes, I hope so.
