Another great chapter. I really like how everything is playing out. Has anyone else thought about Grandma Alice's activities with her house? Painting and remodeling...sounds like she is getting it ready to sell. Why else would an elderly lady go through all that trouble by herself? It seems like she let Eddie in on this, and is once again hiding things from Rory. Maybe she is going to move to Arizona to live with them. That would certainly be an intereting twist.

What Rory really needs right now is all the family he can get. He has always believed that the only family he ever needed was his mom and grandmom. He has pretty much lost all the family he has within a short period of time. His mom to cancer and Alice to stubborness. He has never had a positive male role model in his life. Being around Eddie and Jase is the best thing for Rory as a gay adolescent. Also, having the best friend/brother relationship with Luke is good for him. He definitely wasn't as close to any of his friends from back home. The only person that Rory really opened up to was his mom and that led to a very sheltered emotional life for Rory. In the beginning of the story he did not know how to act around new people. He was closed off to having any type of bond with anyone. Partly that could be because he didn't want to form a bond with anyone and then lose them. I think that mostly his actions show that he felt that forming any type of family with anyone outside of his mom or Alice would be an insult to the memory of his mom's life. Clearly, Rory will never get as close to anyone else as he was to his mom, but he needed to learn that he needs the support of others. I'm glad he is finally learning that lesson. To me that is more important to this story than who he will end up with ::coughSethcough:: Andy PS: thanks for the welcome everyone

Hi everyone. Long time Domaholic, first time poster here. I've been around for a while lurking in the shadows. This chapter has finally gotten me to break my silence. With every chapter Dom out does himself, which is a hard thing to do. Rory and Seth are so cute together. Sorry to all the members of LRITE, I just don't see anything happening there. Maybe Luke and Rory were meant to be together in the beginning stages of the story, but now I feel like they are too brotherly to be able to advance past that. Here's something Dom wrote in his blog a while back about writing TLW that supports my theory.
