  1. At 24, CJ's still learning. Maybe he'll realize striking out with a sword when someone comes at him with a pen knife is overkill. The entire thing could have been handled better by both Peter and CJ, but having Peter ask the security guard to shoot him was a treat to write. Almost as Owen agreeing at the end.
  2. I think CJ only uses 'adult' nicknames for people he likes.
  3. Moi? CJ's the flirt! There's an incident coming up. Oh, yeah. I'd forgotten about it. As to Northman being part of it, I can't confirm or deny the rumors.
  4. I'm gonna stop writing CJ stories and post nothing but prompt responses from now on. Y'all take a seat and wait for the first one, okay?
  5. I figured I'd already made a big deal out of the Russians. Did you see Peter's Insta page? The picture of him riding a white horse while shirtless was interesting. Honestly, the similarity to Taz came before the real name. I saw him as a whirlwind who needed a shot or two of that tequila bottle to calm himself.
  6. Isn't that the title of one of his new songs? Did you memorize the lyrics? LOL
  7. Another reason for CJ and Stephen not to get along. Hasn't CJ already mention he barely tolerates opera or ballet? I see him as being aware of and recognizing those artistic endeavors should be supported, but he's more likely to enjoy a sporting events, wearing shorts and a team jersey, drinking beer. As for him apologizing we'll have to wait and see. But if Peter remains in Chipper's employ, the detente he and CJ reached after the initial kerfuffle, will have to become permanent. Or we could just put Peter and Brion in an octagon to duke it out for their employers.
  8. Writing CJ dealing with reporters and political opponents during the 2016 campaign was fun, but I agree with you: pity anyone who comes at him wrong when he's the candidate. I'm dying to have Pucker Tarlson interview him. After Mexico, CJ will be a media darling, and he'll take a page from Chipper by doing anything he can to spread the word about his upcoming book. Mo' publicity, mo' readers, mo' money. Repeating myself, CJ and Chipper I see as having very similar personalities. Maybe that's why they support each other so much and will by 2040 be two of the most popular men in the US.
  9. We have further proof those two balance each other well. Owen helps to rein in CJ when he gets out of control.
  10. Thank you, sir!
  11. CJ may be acting all grown up now he's a diplomat, but the troublemaker's still around. I'm trying to show these days his violent reactions are reserved for Russian spies and Ooops, can't reveal what's coming yet. Pure as the driven snow. THe names some parents give their kids trying to be cute...
  12. Peter better relax or I'll have to write him out of the story and replace him with a tall, musclebound, stud. Actually, we'll see Peter again in a few chapters, and he'll return in another story sometime in the future.
  13. I think every intelligence service in the world's focused on achieving their objectives and collateral damage won't wtop them. We saw it in Domogarov willing to sacrifice a straight man to entrap CJ and Owen. I suspect the CIA revealing they have Domogarov could be a signal to Moscow they had someone who provided information on Putin's plans to invade Ukraine. Made all our warnings about their intentions more believable.
  14. The name-calling was a borderline issue. Although I wanted it to be funny, the initial draft made CJ sound mean. @WolfM helped me turn it around.
  15. Thanks for reading, Frank.
  16. Hope you at least giggled when I tickled you! This trip takes place in mid-January; Chipper's concert in Mexico City will be at the beginning of May. Northman could redeem himself in between and get an invite to the concert. What do you think the chances are?
  17. LMAO I do come up with a good line now and then, don't I?

“This shit’s good.” Chipper raised the tumbler to his lips and again tasted the firey liquid. “I know, right? Ozzie and I took advantage of the duty-free shop at the airport. We bought fancy perfumes for the grandmothers and three tequila bottles. One of them’s for you. We’re giving another one to my grandfather.” CJ grinned and wiggled his eyebrows. “The three of us should be able to kill this one before the weekend’s over.” “Typical rich brat, evading taxes whenever possible.” “

Cold weather + Thread = Black Dust Vikkel, you fool. You may have saved money on the roofs, but you'll regret being cheap soon enough.
  20. Most of my stories are set in the present (near past) and I draw heavily from what's happening in the world. Try this one. It was written and published soon after the events described. Or this one, It puts my characters in the middle of a demonstration in Washington, D.C.
  21. Mama raised no fool. I read a quality story and went into recruiting mode. I'm glad it worked. Congratulations, Mawgrim! I look forward to more quality stories.

I'm old. My memory doesn't work that well. You've done a great job writing around the original stories, so I'm sure I'll get my answers in time.

As usual, I'm left wanting more. Since the two are found stumbling outside the weyr, I wonder what happened to them being searched.
  24. For that, you need to read Clive Cussler. Although he died a couple of years ago, his catalogue is gigantic. Good action-adventure stories. Cussler used cars from his own collection in the books. He established a museum for them, I think in Colorado. If I recall, you're a car guy; what Cussler owned and featured in his novels would give you a woodie.
  25. That's an interesting idea. However, let's remember Dr. Facundo's in Washington and Lincoln's in Mexico City.
