I think (someone correct me if I'm wrong) the only books of mine without a happy ending have been the first one when I ended in multiple horrid cliffhangers and the one I ended with Owen's sister dying. We agree about a little something positive helping us deal with the day-to-day crap. No idea what's next. I have 3 good outlines and 4 in process. I think I'm going to finish all of them before I write again.

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this before. The 9 books covering the summer of 2022 help set the stage for a lot of what happens in the future. Establishing a good relationship with an adversary, while never giving an inch on values or beliefs, is something CJ will have to do repeatedly if he wants to suceed in politics. The fewer bridges we burn, the more roads we have.

I knew a girl in college who collected soil from each state she visited. Kept each sample in a labeled clear small jar. And the reason I found out was on a trip from DC to Fort Lauderdale for spring break, even though we could have crossed Georgia without stopping, we had to so she could get her souvenir.

Based on what I've read, Cuba has some of the most pristine reefs in the Caribbean. Some of it due to the lack of coastal development and tourism pressure. And that's what I used to get Owen invited to Cuba.

I loved the slower pace in this chapter. And all the innuendo! How many eruptions, Randy? One of the notes I left Wolf was about my bringing home pebbles from Blue Mountains National Park in Australia, and Zion National Park in Utah. I use them as cover in a couple of small houseplants. I think I've used plethora in a story before. LOL I do refer to my spreadsheets and read old chapters over from time to time, but for some reason, my memory loss doesn't include CJ details. I have more old characters resurfacing in upcoming outlines.

I never said it would be the trident Banner would carry around. LOL Because so much iconography back in the 16th century was tied to religion, I debated whether a trident would be an appropriate item. Decided to go with it since it could have been crafted for a naval person.

You're not the first reader unhappy with CJ. I think people expected the typical gay story where the MC falls in love right away. You're right, CJ probably saw the whole thing as a summer romance.

First, a little sports: Florida Panthers 2, Toronto Maple Leafs 0. I think the trident will become the logo for the Luz de Castilla museum which will display most of what's recovered.
