LOL I've used Carlos twice. Once, in Newport, for Secretary of the Navy Carlos del Toro because it's his name. The other Carlos is me. I wrote myself into the story as the ancient biker CJ and his dads meet while on a motorcycle ride and who becomes a family friend. At this point, my most recent appearance was in Key West.

I'm glad you listened. Flying Circus takes place in 2027, and some of what's referenced in the story harks back to plenty of these spinoffs. When you get to Cadet, you'll revisit the Vail Christmas and Cancun spring break, but the story keeps going through May 2024. There are a lot of references to spinoff events in what you read already, but now I'll be able to show you instead of telling you.

Did I tell you about this character who's a total ass, gets beaten up, and probably dies? Haven't written his story yeat, but one of the names I'm considering for him is Albert. Even if my middle name's Albert. LOL

Glad you enjoyed this one! I agree with you, CJ and Camilo will wind up interacting in the future. If Camilo's about 10 years older than CJ, that means he'll be around for a long time.

If I'm going to write gay characters, I'm most likely going to write them hot. LOL I'll share a picture of Camilo next week. He won't fit everyone's taste, but he fits in with my guys. And for the upcoming flirting.

Since Cuba's not on most travelers' itineraries, I decided to include a bit more touristy stuff in this one.

Even when it ends, there'll be more. I'm moving the guys around and I have 2 DC-based stories and 2 travel stories left for the summer of 2022.

@Hellsheild You fucking crack me up! I keep trying to put CJ and Owen in varied situations. In Capitol Hill it was mostly family drama, in this one we're back to a little international intrigue. BTW, that referendum I mentioned did pass last year. Same-sex marriages are legal in Cuba.

You have no idea how consequential! LOL I see CJ and Camilo as friendly adversaries; they may not always agree, but they'll respect each other. Sort of the way our politicians used to act.

You'll find a lot of the places I mention in Google Maps. I had an idea of a couple of places I wanted to include (ie El Morro) but relied on the Internet a lot. Some things were included (the Cuban Friendship Urn) for the sake of nostalgia.

STOP You should really read The Squad+ stories before continuing with the sailboat. And FYI, unlike recent stories that have been entirely from CJ's POV, this one will vary. We'll see the action through the eyes of different characters.

I've written three CJ stories set in the future--in 2027, 2041, and 2048--and the events in this story will influence them. Pam may end up marginalized if she doesn't get her shit together.

Unless I kill Pam off, she'll be back. And her grief can't account for her behavior entirely. She's one of those meddling mother-in-laws we all hear about. Not sure CJ can take much more of her. What, no comments on the food? LOL
