Now I'm wondering what photos you're talking about! I discovered him when he was sanctioned for taking a knee in solidarity with Colin Kapernick on the podium. Race looks and acts like a bad boy with a heart of gold, I immediately connected him to Brad. I mean, the man's a jock, a model, an activist, has a black girlfriend from France, smokes cigarettes, and loves to travel. Can you say: That's a Carlos character and belongs in the Squad?

I'm playing it loose with actual posting dates because I rely on others and these days I only post once the story's ready. Keeping to a schedule of getting each story ready is a pain, inspiration doesn't care if the great idea is for a book down the list. But I'm trying.

LOL I was tempted to go see how much I changed it, but decided it was too late to do anything about it if I'd done any significant damage. I knew I wanted to show Brad's initial reaction, but from CJ's POV. And I also wanted to keep his reaction to the director trying to play him off-stage. The idiot-in-charge would have probably allowed Brad to talk for hours if he knew minutes later Will Smith would steal the show.

Hmmmm. I can't recall how much tinkering I did, but I figure since I rarely give verbatim transcripts or exhaustive descriptions. I generally try to give myself a little wiggle room. Particularly with scenes I have or may want to replay in a parallel story. Interestingly, I recently wrote something set in 2023. Someone calls out CJ for differences in that NYT article he's agreed to be a part of, and how he recounts similar events in his book.

You know what happens... The Russians are pissed, the Chinese are probably watching, the Colombians are scared CJ will turn on them, and the only way to slow down the zombies is to do as Brett once said: push the fat kids to the front to keep the un-dead busy and buy time. That's how CJ, Owen, and Liebe escape.

@Howzat If you like guys like Brad, google Race Imboden. That's what I envision Brad looks like but without legs. And since nobody's made the connection yet, although I admit it's tenuous, here's something to let readers know who the guy at state endorsing the interview is. I thought after I used Sam Seaborn in the last chapter someone would figured this one out. This has to be one of TWW's best scenes.

1. You're welcome! 2. LMAO 3. LMAO, again 4. You've been peeking at my notes for what's coming, right? I'm enjoying writing stuff to fit what readers know is going to happen. It's interesting because most of the time when story's start with the ending, the author knows how he got there. I barely jotted down some directions. 5. CJ always does things his way. He dragged out committing but once he did, he was in 100%. I tried to show a bit of that with the naked, hot Russian. CJ (and Owen) where more embarrassed for the guy than excited. That's until anger kicked in. Not sure I wouldn't have at least licked my lips.

Damn! Trick question. Coming up next is chapter 2 of Chemist, Thiago's story. Set in June 2021, it recounts his move to Atlanta. Look for it next month Then there's a short story introducing a new character. Because the first mention of him will be years after he's 'joined the flock' I decided to provide a little background first since it wouldn't fit in the other story. Something a bit longer will follow. About a dozen chapters, and this is tricky. There will be several characters and almost every chapter will be from a different point of view. That's coming early fall.

A younger CJ would have probably slapped him around by now, but I hold out hope sooner or later he'll at least tell Northman to fuck off. Although a kick to the head would be more satisfying.

Thank you! Inducing lumps-in-throats is quite a compliment to any author. Yeah, CJ and Ozzie will be talked about as a romance for the ages. Somebody else better do it; I don't write romance.

I just opened a bottle of Mateus with a few friends. You should join us for a 🍷. We're plotting where to go next time we're in New York and Washington. LOL Maude and Michael's are two restaurants I'd love to patronize at some point. I haven't been in Los Angeles in a long time.

I was in a mushy mood while writing this chapter and the next one. Both have lines that encapsulate how CJ sees himself and his family.

LOL Wait until the next book where I'll have all of them wearing very little while on a sailboat. Having an antagonist stick around for so long is new to me, but I think I like it. You've been better at that than I have been in the past.
