Thank you! I've been nervous about this chapter like I was with the one at the Russian embassy. In both instances I tried a slow burn, getting everything in without rushing to the conclusion. I'm glad the pacing worked. Let me think about when I want to post the Epilogue.

Thank you! The entire story has been posted since February, so all the next chapter needs is someone to hit the publish button.

We'll revisit Ritch's reaction to the news and his trip to see his brother and niece. I don't think he appreciated being kept in the dark.

I'd like everyone to know Jose Antonio was aware Liebe was kidnapped. I screwed up when he beta read a future story and I forgot I referenced this thing. Thanks for keeping quiet, Jose. Northman's head must be ready to explode after CJ told him to fuck off. I kept their interactions free of cursing, which had to be an effort for CJ, so when the explosion came it'd be more shocking. I've been on a character recycling kick lately; we might see or hear from Northman again.

The Mexico incident was mentioned in Hail to the Chief. That was published in June 2019. I tend to use cliffies sparingly, only when they feel right, and this is one of those instances.

Yeah, but plenty of readers thought whatever happened would involve Domogarov or Northman. Elpidio was the first new character I introduced in this story on purpose. Then I kept him in the background and concentrated on the other two idiots. I'm amazed at myself for holding out for 36 chapters before the shit hit the fan. We know he writes a book about their experience; let's hope Hollywood comes calling.

Aren't you impressed I managed to keep the details quiet for a bit? It wasn't easy deflecting when some guesses came close.

LMFAO For three years you guys have been hounding me about the 'Mexico incident,' claiming it was a cliffhanger. I figured you guys wanted a real cliffie! 🐐

Yeah, but we need consistency. One fix here and there ain't enough. -

Thanks for the fix and the lesson... It's time to brush off the cobwebs and offer your services. There's always a lack of editors around here. -
Into the ninth month of CJ’s posting to the American embassy in Mexico City, he and Owen felt comfortable navigating life in their temporary home. Tuesday nights, CJ sparred at the Embassy with marines, Owen practiced on Thursdays and played rugby most Sundays, and Liebe flourished while spending large amounts of time with both her fathers. It was a comfortable routine. They tried to expose their daughter to as much of the city as they could, including visits to historical structures and n

Grammar Guide 21 - The End of the Sentence

Been there, done that. I've faced a similar issue when ending sentences with an ellipse. A certain author/editor hated them, removed them, and I had to sneak them back in when he wasn't looking... -
Howdy! Looking for a story I read years ago.

Trials and Tribulations by Billy Martin? -
I'm expecting a massacre. Which is why I forge ahead with CJ's more equitable future. The whole world faces changes in the foreseeable future. CJ said something about being a globalist and believing in free trade to a point. McDonald's and Starbucks, along with others exiting Russia entirely, are but the tip of the iceberg. Globalization is here to stay, but I suspect there'll be big changes.

Because those power hungry mongrels care more about staying in power and lining their pockets than in governing!

Although I've backed off a bit from using real people, I would enjoy killing off a Justice or two. As long as I don't have real people do anything that wouldn't be in character, there won't be legal repercussions. Additionally, that freedom of speech some government officials praise so often, allows to me to say almost anything. As long as I don't personally threaten a SCOTUS member, writing one died in a horrific way might be gruesome but it's my right to use my imagination any way I see fit.

I really need Edwards gone, but I think I want to keep him around because he pisses Thomas off. I'm leaning towards restoring sanity to Associate Justice Joseph Bradley's seat. It was the one Thurgood Marshall occupied. Of course, if I free that up, I may just have to take a spouse out at the same time. just for kicks and giggles. Last time I wrote about a Supreme Court Justice it was Scalia and we know what happened to him shortly after my story was published.

Hey! At least Australia dumped their right-wing PM. I suspect Liebe won't be a fan of pantyhose or too much makeup either. Can we say tomboy until she realizes she can get away with murder by flirting?

This from a concert at Madison Square Garden back in the 70s. I remember watching it on TV. Howard Cosell did an over the top introduction.
