He was notorious for picking unstable relationships. Considering he was in love with Jason through it all, we now know why.

“Oh Kenny,” Sally blinked and shook her head. “What’s he going to do, he’s such a sensitive boy… he’s not going to understand.” Jenny affixed Sally with a look, thinking to the nervous boy she’d watched kissing her son in the next yard over from her bedroom window. “Oh, I think he will be fine with it…” Sally looked up, “really? I worry about him. He’s so confused…” “Not that confused,” Jenny answered, trying to bite back from telling Sally outright what she knew. “And he’s so straight-laced,” Sally continued. “I’d say he’s loosened up a little since he met Steve,” Jenny again tried to bite back her words. “Steve is so good for him, he’s getting him out of his shell, getting him to try new things.” Sally smiled into her tea. “Oh, he’s definitely doing that…” Jenny nodded. “I just want them both to be happy,” Sally murmured absently. “They’re getting there, I am pretty sure,” Jenny swallowed her tea, deciding having one of the Jensen boys outed to Sally in a day was quite enough trauma for the little church lady.

So Brutally true. Jason here was trapped, Brad offered him friendship, money, belonging. The threat of his father beating him hanging over his head. His desperation due to neglect. And Blake having walked away from him less than a week before... And along comes West. From a loving home, fed, standing up to Brad, being unrepentant, unafraid and Gay. He was everything that Jason wanted to be, and that twists a person like a knife. But West was also a light that guided Jason out of his darkness. Just took him a while to realize it. It's so easy to fall into these traps out of desperation.

I has always bothered me that the assault scene in Carter's Shadow had Jason Jensen there, it NEVER felt right to me. And having an explanation as to HOW Andrew was able to find West seemed to fit. It always seemed so... accidental... what reason would Coach have to be down by the shop classes like that... how was he able to get there so fast. It needed explanation and since I was writing about Jason anyway... it all came together and made sense. West alone in court didn't seem enough, having Jason testify would ensure that those responsible would be punished. It just... worked. I hope Jensen's redemption arc feels more rounded now, earned. Heck no, onto the next book! I have a story to tell. The Order are still standing, and have won a great victory by the end of Carter's Order. Let's see how they do with Carter's Run. Andrew's unshackled in this one, and he's got them squarely in his sights.

So today is going to be filled with revisions, plot hole tightening, and fun. Carter's Order is finished, but Father and his minions are still very much in play. When i started this I never anticipated how crucial Three little boys were going to be to the plot. It's funny the way a book unfolds, you start out with an idea but the end result seldom looks anything like that idea by the time you are done with it.

I finished Carter's Order today. 38 Chapters, they are all posted set to go live each day. I will see about prepping an ebook for those who don't want to wait. might take a day or two. I am very tired. This book is the first half of two. The Second Book : Carter's Run. i won't spoil things, but the name is important.

Nothing beats Gossip and lies like standing in the light and speaking the truth.

I wanted to write the Pastor who is what I believe Pastor's/reverends should be. How they should act, with the weight of their life lessons measuring scripture, and compassion and love guiding them. The world would be a better place were this the example set.

I wonder who'd do that.
