Ben's the real deal he is what Kier is pretending to be, a reflection of. But while Ben is fond of Kier I don't know if he is attracted to him, he treats him like a pet. Ben's own particular serial killer vibe aside. I can see it.

Hate can be healthy if it is directed and controlled. These two don't really hate each other, they just know each other's lives inside and out. Like anyone who went to school with someone their entire lives, they've seen it all. From Garrett's crying in first grade, through to Finn's bad presentation in English class in Grade six... so many of these small town kids are basically brothers... and they're fighting like it.

@Jeff Burton You've nailed Kier pretty accurately. This is what he is, and he simply doesn't see it. He's what he was made to be, and Ben is enjoying every second of it. A favourite play piece dressed up to be King, and from Ben's perspective, he's waiting and watching to see what Kier will do with it. He knows all about Lee and Riley, what they do, and what's going on.

Close family friends. The Hickey family are the same ones from Capt. vs Goofball... They're all friends, the same age, and closely connected. Brian tends to be the lynch pin for the relationships, he's kind of the town's glue. The town is old, and very interconnected, they're all cousins second or third times removed after a fashion. Like most Canadian small towns.
