    Chapter 20

It was set in 1995, and Carter's Shadow covers more information on this topic. To the Major there was only the British Army that mattered to him.

    Chapter 7

I like the imagry. Andrew the White Knight, vs Enrico the Black King.
  3. Westminister, London, United Kingdom The London twilight bled through the panoramic windows of the penthouse apartment, casting long, shadows across the sleek, minimalist interior. Enrico stood before the glass, a tumbler of amber liquid in his hand, his gaze sweeping across the glittering expanse of the city below. From this height, the distant thrum of traffic and the faint glow of the urban sprawl felt like a world away, a meticulously constructed backdrop for his thoughts. He’d jus

    Prologue

I am so not getting into that argument again I hope the Welsh-ly inclined will forgive and not come storming over the Dykes to exact revenge on this little West Midland's cottage... I just had the garden done. I don't need Battle Sheep and mad Welshmen over for tea today.
  5. Personally I liked this book, it was a return for Will and a transition from the lost Will we saw in the last two books, to someone who is finally beginning to come into his own. Marc was a character that needed to be there, to give Will a push to come out of his Grey-life and start to shine again.

    Chapter 24

Influenced the situation, I think it was part of the research I was doing at the time. I needed a reason for the second minister to move aside and it made logical sense.
  7. There were celebrations in the streets; Ascension Day was the culmination of a multi-global effort. Biologists and geneticists worked side by side with archaeologists. It was the pinnacle of Imperial science, achieving the impossible. And all the while the Bishops lurked in the shadows, whispering of the divinity of the second coming. -Archduke Francesco ‘The Fall of the Empire’ Karin City – Karin A black flag streamed from the highest tower of the fortress. Chapter 6

Ok, honest view points, it's not too over the top is it? I am trying to keep this as grounded... HA... as grounded as any high stakes Spy thriller can be. I know there is not a lot of Will in this book initially but I will try to work more of him in as the narrative allows. Might do a chapter with him around Chapter eight... Chapter seven is written already so can't there. If you are enjoying things, reviews or recommendations help me a lot. Or feel free to drop me notes into my IM box above, CRITICISMS are also welcome. Feedback is vital in this kind of book, and since I am returning after such a long time away, it would help me refine skills.
  9. Langley, Virginia, United States of America The chosen location for the impending operation was the abandoned docks of Birkenhead, Merseyside, specifically the labyrinthine decay around the old Cammell Laird shipyards. It was a forgotten corner of a once-thriving industrial zone, offering both the necessary isolation for covert action and enough urban sprawl to provide cover. The air in the CIA's secure operations room, deep within Langley, had hummed with a taut energy that mirrored t
  10. There is a reason AIs were never advanced in the Imperial order. That reason is twofold; firstly an AI is a form of life with the potential to exceed man. That in and of itself was heresy against the word of the Bishops’ Order. The second reason was that AIs were supposed to be possessed with a cold, mechanical logic. As was demonstrated with the Excalibur, this was not the case. An AI was susceptible to emotions such as fear, concern, love and hate. Emotions should never control the kind of fir
  11. Canada House, Trafalgar Square, United Kingdom Nestled proudly on the corner of Trafalgar Square, Canada House stood as a bastion of maple and stone amidst London's historic grandeur. An imposing neoclassical facade, a stately counterpoint to the vibrant churn of buses and tourists, it housed a diplomatic gravitas unique a nation built on equality, diplomacy, and fairness. Sunlight, when it broke through the London haze, caught the intricate carvings and the gleam of polished brass on
  12. Beat the drums He comes. He comes. From the Lion’s Pride, They hide. They hide. The sword will fall. They crawl. They crawl. -Aurora Jackson ‘Ballad of the Templar King’ Lex Talionis –Yeji-Sola System The mighty hatch began to unlatch, the unique locking system disengaging as twelve seal bolts hissed and withdrew in sequence, a rush of gasses escaping as the door pushed outwards and split apart, sliding aside, opening on the darkness beyond. First, one green

    Chapter 4

I wanted to show that he is good beyond the MI5 support, that independent he is very capable. I admit this book is difficult to write as I am trying to think ten steps ahead of myself. Challenging in a good way.
  14. Thames House, London, United Kingdom Andrew had stepped outside to call Will, something about monumental disasters always had him reaching out to his husband. A subconscious need to always confirm that Will and Jacob were alive, and unhurt, that by confirming they were, he confirmed that he was. Will's voice on the line immediately grounded Andrew, despite the professional chaos that spun around them. “I saw the news,” Will said before anything else. “Jacob's at home, with me, he's dra
  15. I didn't actually write that biography. It's got a few inaccuracies, I think I remember it though it was doing the rounds back around the early two thousands. I didn't realize there were still websites up with it out there. Also I need to kick the publishers to fix links. Might do a second edition run if I get the time. But that involves a lot of coffee, time, and masochism. So yeah buy my books, ya cheap gits
  16. but then he wouldn't get to call him Carter, which he's done since the beginning. Plus it opens up all kinds of fun Canadian frustrated moments he can blame for catching Carter-itis, and that it is spreading in the form of 7 year old toothless anklebiting Carter-sprogs.
  17. A true man is never beaten; he merely retreats till he can find a path to victory! -Kardiac ‘The Templar’s Edict’ HMS Excalibur –Yeji-Sola System The twin transports that had been used to jump the Excalibur pulled back behind the Command Carrier, their jump pods retracting as they tightened in. Their crews maintained safe distances while the Excalibur’s BARCAP launched from the Ark-Royal’s flight deck, taking up a defensive posture around the Excalibur, F-175 fighters mixed
  18. Ok to clarify. The stories start with Book one: Carter's Army and follow Will Carter through the next ten years of his life. Growing from a boy into adulthood, and eventually into him becoming a Politician in Canada. The last book of that cycle was Carter's Recourse. The new book is a continuation of the stories, but told primarily from Andrew's perspective and start ten years after Carter's Recourse, and are set in 2015. It *is* a continuation of the story of the two boys you read about in Carter's Army all those years ago. Just, older, wiser, and with more joint pain. At the advice of Myr, I was asked to set a second series for the books from Andrew's perspective. So same world, as the stories here are categorized by World, Series, and book. Hope that helps.
  19. Yep can confirm that it is me. And yes it is the same Saga. I've been writing it for twenty something years. :)

    Chapter 3

hmm good points, the attack was focused on a housing complex. I should edit that in. As for shooting them, that I think comes from the Rules of engagement. But also a good point, I will edit that too, thank you.

    Chapter 3

I apologize in advance, Friday's are my weekly hospital trips. the Vampires need their bloods, and as such I am going to try to get tomorrow's chapter done today. But I cannot guarantee, I usually allot mornings for my writing, afternoons for edits and research. Evenings will be the Falcon Banner postings. So just be warned there may be a delay. No planned edits or revisions to this chapter, unlike yesterdays which had tonal and descriptive changes (purists will want to pop back and note the changes. But they aren't needed to move on with the story). As usual, get off yer rears and provide feedback before I mark you all down five points at the end of term.
  22. Thames House, London, United Kingdom The final crack of the pistol snapped through the gloom as it struck the target clear and cleanly. The bullet casing bounced once off of wall, before hitting the floor. It span as it settled, finally coming to rest with the others from the spent magazine of the Walther P99. The gun barrel dropped as Andrew Carter surveyed his result with a professional eye, noting the grouping of clean shots. Even at that range, before the paper target had been

    Chapter 34

I met the former Prime Minister of Canada in a line at a Tim Horton's, which was amusing, he thought I was a conservative voter (This was JUST before he took over) and bought me a coffee. I wasn't about to say no to free coffee, my boss (Also not a conservative voter) was highly amused. Ahhhhhh Ottawa, so small, so very very small.
