Antioch Falls. Good Morning
-
The thread of light pulsed three times. Sharp. Bright. Urgent. Wylan was on his feet before he understood he had moved, his heart hammering against his ribs, his hands reaching for the scimitar that lay beside the bed. The chamber was dark, the brazier cold, the silence of the Citadel pressing against his ears like water. He did not stop to dress. He pulled Ishan’s father's scimitar from its scabbard and ran. The corridors of the Citadel were empty, the guards who should have stood w

At the rate he is going, Stephen's going to owe Ashot enough gold to buy a castle. Ashot's plan to keep Steffy from running away is in full swing, at some point he is going to realize that Steffy isn't going anywhere and when he does, Ashot's going to finally be happy.

Now you know why Rikard values Niklaus so highly. And there is only way Niklaus could be used to enhance Rikard's immortality specifically, when you clone yourself and enhance your own DNA to give you a blueprint to becoming a GN-2 yourself. -

He was present when Lukas and Eriks discussed it I believe. -

Lukas alone trying to catch up -
The void was cold. Lukas had known it would be cold. Vacuum was vacuum. But knowing and *feeling* were different things. The armored flightsuit protected him from the worst of it, its thermal layers trapping what little heat his body produced, but the cold still seeped through—a slow, creeping numbness that started in his fingers and toes and worked its way inward. He was drifting. The Raptor was gone. The fireball had faded. The debris field stretched around him in all directi

This one would collect money by guilt tripping lords who failed to go on the first crusade, then ship them off to modern day Turkey and tell them to go fight Kalijj Arslan... who would wipe them out to a man. While said Pope would wash his hands of it all and pretend that it was God's will. Yep that pope wasn't a very nice one. Ashot makes him his bitch, so it's worth it.

Mickey has a moral objection to being Probed against his will... with his will that's different... but they never asked.

Oh believe me, I am enjoying a lovely cup right now, staring at a chapter of Vega Vixen 2.0 where Mickey holds up a Grey Alien flying saucer with a staplegun... mmmm I love my mornings.

5 More to go of this tale. After I will release another story in between, and then release the third book "The Lord of the Pierced Dawn" which is available now on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lord-Pierced-Dawn-Silver-Boar-ebook/dp/B0GYQF7KSX

Ashot has a name to earn. Snot going to stay a snot any longer than he has to. He's got a Steffy to marry (and oh boy does he go on a mission and a half to accomplish that, much to Stephen's horror.... it involves blackmailing an Archbishop, extorting the Pope of Rome, and a few polite letters to certain Ladies of the court about what their husbands really get up to.... Ashot is a force of nature when he's older. Darien's spy master)

Now, again, Siyan was a butcher, but he fled Antioch almost immediately after doing this act of barbarity. Fleeing by one of the mountain gates... only to fall from his horse and shatter his legs. His guards left him behind and fled with his gold. He was found, begging for Parley waving a white flag. You can imagine what happened to him by the Tafurs and Crusaders who found that irredeemable creature in the mud. After all, it was only the same hospitality he showed Walo.

I've made a tiny edit, to remove the overly repetitive: "His thing was a thing of a thing that...." I will endeavor to do that going forward for each chapter, apologies I was a little fixated at the time and didn't notice how often I did it.

Walo learned to fly. Good morning
-
The white banner hung limp in the still morning air, and Darien had been staring at it for so long that the cloth had become a thing without meaning, a shape without color, a promise that he had stopped believing in hours ago. Walo rode at the head of the small column, his armor polished, his cloak new, his face that of a man who had been waiting for this moment since the siege began. The Constable of France had not starved in the passes. He had not frozen in the mud. He had arrived with t

Chapter 7: THE KILLING GROUND
Topher Lydon commented on Topher Lydon's story chapter in Chapter 7: THE KILLING GROUND
They fight like friends do over a man :: chuckles :: -
Yes Ishan and Wylan's first encounter. Ishan was creating fog to cover the ships into Nicea. Wylan bumbled into the middle of his ritual and they both nearly drowned as a result.

This gate was one of the last that was still receiving supplies into the city (as we saw when Ashot entered the city on that side) It's the end of outside help for Antioch.

Chapter 7: THE KILLING GROUND
Topher Lydon commented on Topher Lydon's story chapter in Chapter 7: THE KILLING GROUND
The parallel with Elias and Lukas is something I wanted to do intentionally. Lukas and Elias have a lot of things in common. -
The jump drive tore a hole in reality and spat the Raptor out into darkness. Not the clean darkness of normal space—the smooth, velvet black that cradled stars and planets and the slow drift of asteroids. This was a *sick* darkness. A dying darkness. The kind of darkness that settled over battlefields after the guns went quiet and the wounded stopped screaming. The system had no name. Not anymore. The maps called it a debris field, a navigational hazard, a region to be avoided. But o

The streets literally ran ankle deep with blood. I do write about Jerusalem, it is the next book and the final of the trilogy, there are two other books after it showing Jerusalem through Ishan and a Crusader deserter Sebastian Ibelin's eyes. And the journey home that shows Darien's son Atreus and his journey. (Frankia will never be the same)

Chapter 6: THE EXTRACTION
Topher Lydon commented on Topher Lydon's story chapter in Chapter 6: THE EXTRACTION
That's the beauty of his Nicholas Denver persona. He's everywhere, and until Lex Talionis kidnaps him, he's a major problem. He finances the Empire giving him leverage, he's got control. Eyes everywhere. It's insidious... and the name, Nicholas should give you a clue as to who he betrayed to take it all. Niklaus/Lukas has been dancing to Rikard's tune for 240 years.
