    Chapter 8

I also wanted a clear link between Andrew's Father Thomas Highmore and Walter Grady who would have been about the same age. It also gave me a chance to canonize the Foster brother link between Andrew and Jason established in Capt. vs Goofball. :: continues to spin his little Web of Merrickville founding families :: I may ore may not be contemplating a 70-80's era short story regarding Walter and Tom and the eternal Mrs. Highmore nee Levesque. (relevance to be made clear when I publish Charlie's been Stolen, some point in the spring on GA)

How very dare you to quote Enrico "Andrew likes his Pony Cars" I still regret having to destroy the 2005 GT of his... mmmmmmmmmm still a sexy machine.

    Chapter 8

If we see a divergence of the books, this would have been after Will gifted Andrew with his car back. Andrew's birthday being September 25th 2019. Seems about right that he'd have it here in 2025. The 69 GT is a good bridge for that.

    Chapter 8

Orel is far more practical with money, and VERY sensible with it. His taste in Cardigans for example, and the fact that he probably hasn't bothered to buy new clothes in about five years.

    Merrickville's own Donut Lord

    Chapter 8

I think, out of the pair of them, Orel is the one most able to guide them through that. Like he did in the barn. We are drawn to Orel viewing Finn as his "Safe-thing" but Orel is also Finn's. They compliment each other, as we saw in that scene, all of Finn's fears and trauma, and Orel stands there and redefines it all, and reclaims his Finn. I like that Orel is out to heal Finn, and not the other way around, Orel doesn't need healing, he's just fine as he is and happy. It's Finn who is the most broken of the two, and Orel is going to fix it.

    I hope so

    Chapter 8

Ahh Lids will find her man, it needs to be someone that suits her, and compliments her. I toyed with Orel and her, as you saw in the early text, but then Orel chose Finn and that was that. :: shrugs :: characters do their own thing sometimes, and Orel was one of those characters that just owns the stage when he gets on it. He's weird, and better off for it.

    Chapter 8

Ahh Lydia, the story I am writing after this one, is a Lydia story. She's getting her own. 'cause she's earned one. The Shadow Mayor of Merrickville is taking down the Council, and she's doing it in style.

    Chapter 8

This house Orel claimed was another line edit mistake I made in the Asset and the Liability. I kept having Walter walk into the garage from a house where he was watching a ball game. Forgetting in my old age, that he lived across town... so thus... the should be condemned Garage House, Orel has now claimed as his home.

    Chapter 8

The Uncle Andrew connection is very VERY important to the plot. It's small set up here, for a big payout later... when Finn actually realizes the "Uncle Andrew" he's never met, is actually ANDREW. Finn and now Orel, have something Tarquin Merrick doesn't have, a loyal and sturdy family that protects it's own with a fierce determination. And Kyle to bring them donuts.

    Chapter 8

Orel ran to Finn the first opportunity he got, much to Tarquin's coming anger, Finn's surprise, and Garrett's HIGH amusement

    Chapter 8

I love that Orel, no matter what, does things his own way, in his own time. FAR from the invalid that Tarquin views him as.

ohhh Tarquin's in for a NASTY surprise.

  17. Chapter Eight: The Sanctuary The Avocado Suitcase The afternoon sun was hitting the garage at that specific, golden-hour angle that turned the dust motes into suspended constellations. It was the only time of day Finn actually liked the light; it softened the industrial grime, turning the oil stains on the concrete into abstract shadows and the stainless steel of the DeLorean into a mirror of fire. Finn was deep in the engine bay, his hands black with grease, his mind happi

    Chapter 11

I had no idea he's shorter than Uncle Peter
  19. Topher Lydon

    Chapter 11

Dear Gods could you imagine him dealing with Putin? Listen here, you equally short, and equally as frustrating person, I can ride horses shirtless too... it'd be a disaster, and people would go blind from the sun reflecting off of my pale pasty skin, but dammit, I'd look just as epic. Now then get the heck out of Ukraine before I show you my Tiger Claw! umm... why are you ALL laughing?

    Chapter 11

Will is fighting for the survival of what little is left. And he is not going to allow Biden's... incapacity to give the other candidate a path back to the White House. Will can't lash himself to a sinking ship, and four years of failure in his eyes. And the alternative terrifies him. He's got to take all the strategic brilliance he used in the War, and turn it to a forum he can win. Because we know Will by now, he's devious, clever, and always has a plan. And he isn't going to let Canada be forgotten, annexation be damned.

    Poor Will...

    Chapter 11

We all know Uncle Peter's the one who has to give it. Will's far too... uptight, Andrew would stutter and start talking in Hockey metaphor, and West would put locks on the doors. Where as Peter would sit there, with a butcher knife and a cucumber and purposefully warn them about what happens if he catches them sneaking into each other's rooms after dark.
