The dome of Silence as discussed in prior chapters, it took a long time for them to get the pieces in place just to send him two words. Will is closely monitored, it's mentioned in this chapter that he has to use a joke app and peer-2-peer encryption to talk to his staff. If Will were to be in known contact with Andrew, a Resistance Leader of a hostile power... Will would be removed immediately and itt would shatter what little control Canada has left. Will formed a plan with Lisa at the end of the book but it was a desperate one, this chapter is showing him that he now has no other choice, this is the strategy he needs to follow. It's always been a 'Hail-Mary' play.

Thanks, I am enjoying writing them. There's a few others to this town, Capt vs goofball, Granny's got a plan etc. Merrickville's fun to muck about in. All of these stories have a tie in to each other, even if it's just a shared character here or there.

Edward was murdered by his wife and her lover so that she and he could take control of the throne. Edward's crime was being gay and being exploited by people for it. The poke thing is widely disproved as a church thing against sodomy. bigotry was on a whole different level back then. Far more likely he was straight up murdered to clear the way to the throne for his son.

Wouldn't be a good story if the heroes didn't have a Villain worth overcoming. Finn could murder him, but in the garage on an industrial street, with a busy Supply and Haulage business next door with cameras all over it? Days away from the Prime Minister coming to town? That would cause far more problems.

This story's got a few twists and turns in it. And I am surprised at times, because even our dear villain has his ups and downs. Orel is wierd but awesome. Finn is bitter and uses it. Oliver is loyal. Lydia is, well.... Lids is Lids. Poor Garrett is the best friend to someone he NEVER wants to be friends with. Kyle's ... Captain donut! Tabby and Alvin are about, being themselves and sickeningly in love. Even Kenny and Steve have a bit in it. MVP: Aunt Jenny, who better to hand someone their balls, than our resident Mom.
