  1. Happy Birthday lil' blue one.
  2. Gray just took off without a trace as he knew he'd be marked for death at his failure. I too see a family reunion coming up.
  3. Kookaburra, and all aboard, went into hiding at Ryes Lagoon. It would have been easier for Martin to get them in there since Trev had mapped the way without any problems.
  4. Grundig became the contact person to complete the illusion that all aboard Kookaburra died in the explosion. Other than that, he was just there.
  5. I think I've actually seen that guy on an episode of COPS.
  6. While there is some good suggestions and speculations here, I don't think every one is doable at this time. If CJ sticks to the timeline he told me, the epilogue will begin two months later.
  7. When you stop to think about it, Shane was in no shape to stay aboard Atlantis. Both Trev and Shane needed medical attention. I had told CJ by Trev allowing Lisa and Joel to motor Atlantis back to Florida, it gives them their 15 minutes of fame. What I didn't think of at the time, was it gives them some closure to the whole Bridgett situation.
  8. @ Benji - If I remember correctly, I think the last word was Trev's car was still parked at Joels house. If the insurance company was to deny the claim to rebuild Atlantis, Trev could still probably afford to get her rebuilt. There still may be some issues regarding it. The one good thing is Bridgett won't be able to claim Arnold's gold.
  9. I was editing for a few authors before I joined GA back in 2006. I think it was during our time together on the Writers Support Team that brought us into a working relationship. It was with chapter 38 of Changing Lanes that I started beta reading for CJ. At the time, I was the Editing Lead for a program run by the WST and he was looking for another beta reader for his team and since I had been following his work, I volunteered. I just happened to have my flash drive with me here at work so I was able to pinpoint a date easier.
  10. As an editor myself, I found that when I learned to slow down reading, I caught more. It carries over into the beta reading I do. it's on the rare occasion that CJ will send a chapter out a second time.
  11. Believe it or not, Thursday morning I had another email from CJ explaining what he's doing with this chapter. Normally, I'm one of the first Beta's to receive the chapter. With this chapter, shortly after he sent it to me, he then sent it to MikeL, RedA, and Graeme. We all have our way of working the chapter. RedA is the sailing expert. CJ will then bring our suggestions together into one document. Lowflyer is the last person to read the chapter before posting. We would be lucky to see the chapter Tuesday. But as I see it, it's going to take a little time to bring everything together into one document considering the length, as MikeL said 48 pages in word.
  12. You're much too young to explode Dark. I too have finished with the chapter and will be sending it back to CJ after I get home from work this afternoon.
  13. I will verify that I received the chapter in my In Box at 1:52 am EST this date.
  14. I think hh5 has given us the most logical rescue scenario here. You may need to scroll back to the first post.
  15. It's a little hard to determine an ETA at this time as I don't think it's been sent out to the team yet. At least I haven't seen it yet.
  16. That's why you have a team, to catch most of the little errors that appear in an amazing story.
  17. I think that wrapped gift was the rifle Trev used.
  18. CJ has done a lot of research throughout the story. He also says this about one of the team. He also has a team member, Graeme, who is Australian.
  19. I can't confirm the exact figures, but the page hits are quite high. The figure was shared recently with the Admin Team.
  20. Dean was a very real, very dangerous Hurricane. I had even entertained the idea of an Australian vessel coming to the rescue, but I think that would be a little far fetched to be expecting them to be following Atlantis.
  21. At this point, we are simply trying to protect a member of the team from a grievous accusation. Now granted, as a member of the team, we get to see the chapter in the rough before it's posted. Like everyone else, we have to wait for the chapter to post before we can talk about it in the forum. Knowing what's in the next chapter sometimes makes it hard to post in a current topic without revealing something from the coming chapter. A lot of authors like for their team to participate in the discussion.
  22. Something just dawned on me, and I think MikeL will agree with me. If Emoe is the last of the team to see the chapter, as CJ stated above, then Emo couldn't have added that at the end. It was already there when I read the chapter in beta.
  23. CJ currently holds the record for the most posts with 10,535. Some things to remember about the goat is he likes to use a lot of misdirection to take the blame off himself. AND he likes to misquote people.
  24. Emoe is CJ's editor.
  25. I know a group of readers who have been waiting at least 2 years for the end of a cliffhanger. We also call ourselves Icarians.
