For the next few months, in Holsworthy, we trained hard, and even spend 5 weeks in the Pacific, assisting with disaster relief after a devastating cyclone, where we helped with major infrastructure projects, and clearing away all of the debris left afterwards, and we even spent Christmas and New Year on the pacific islands, which wasn’t too bad, considering that it was my first time overseas. One of the best stories I have read on GA Well done for completing such a mammoth task of writing this huge story, which takes us to many different parts of the world, including my home state of Western Australia. I have read this story three times now, and I enjoy it just as much each time, and no doubt I will read it again a few more times in the future. Thanks Heaps, for a marvelous story. I am a farmers son, so I been involved in a number of back burns to control wild bush fires, and I remember one in particular that was similar to what I wrote in the story, it is quite a spectacular sight, when you light up on all sides and it suddenly rushes to the middle, very fast, very dangerous.

Once I was unpacked, and shown around the barracks, we went down to the temporary Royal Engineers building, where I was introduced to the rest of the platoon and company. I learn that there were only 3 platoons in the company, so a total of 40 men and women in the platoon and 120 in the company. Great story But just a few corrections from one who lives in Western Australia Wiluna is a medium sized mining town and DOES have a three man police station. Leinster is a small private mining town and does NOT have a police station. Geraldton has a regional police complex, which has over twenty officers. In the Christmas chapter, it is mid summer during Christmas, Northampton is hot and dry, so there are NO green pastures at that time of the year. When the pilot lands on a road south of Northam, the area has a rainfall double of that of Northampton, so it's is not desert like at all, but pasture land and wheat crops, wiluna is not pastured farmland as it is situated just south west of the litttle sandy desert.
