No, the love never disappeared. even when he thought it should. and I think the fact that he was jealous threw another thing into the mix for him. I think you're right, and he is shifting the goal. but I think its done from self-preservation. He knows what got him hurt last time, so the bar is set higher. At this point though, all Alek knows is that Liam is willing to try to work on a friendship, and is happy with that
