This chapter felt important to me. With the accident and the breakup, Liam was drained, and he felt all alone. He needed this to recharge his batteries and remind himself that this family is HIS family too. He has people willing to stand with him, but he lost sight of that. I think this trip helped. I agree, the pressure is largely self-inflicted. As I said in another reply, Liam is so worried about making the wrong decision that he almost can't make any decisions. Maybe this visit with his "mom" will help give him some clarity. Thank you for your comments and support, Spikey

I found the family I could often depend on most is the family that chooses each other. That's not to say blood relatives aren't good too, but sometimes, in Liam's case, you need the one's who adopt you into their lives. Thank you for your comments and support, Jeff

Sometimes the status quo is the easiest option if no one really challenges you on it. In this case, I think Liam, although they did break up a time or two, did let Alek get away with the delays. Walking away was probably the best thing for both of them at the time. Is it the best thing now? You're right, Alek never cheated and he did love Liam, he just didn't do a very good job in making him feel like an important part of his life. That is something I think everyone, no matter what camp you're in, would agree is vital in any relationship. Thank you for your great comments and all of your encouragement and support, Gary.
