  1. we had this tonight with grilled pork chops https://www.aforkstale.com/instant-pot-fried-cabbage/ it was delicious!
  2. i try not to read comments before posting my own, but have read y'alls comments not only do i regularly write letters, but i have several different stationary sets to chose from! back to the story, again i'm wondering how our "Perfect Stranger" feels when these letters appear in their mailbox? are they reading the notes? are they being saved? how is "Perfect Stranger" feeling about all this emotion? the fact that this is how i'm feeling about the story, drives home (to me) that this is a good piece and i'm glad you were inspired to write it
  3. i love a good Cinco de Mayo celebration, while i've not experienced one in the Mission District in San Francisco i've been to many in Denver, Colorado those Folklorico dancers are pretty spectacular! i do hope that our friend the sojourner can one day find happiness and know that EVERYBODY deserves to be loved and i agree with tim, @Mikiesboy your story is very interesting, and it it unique. i'm enjoying it!
  4. there is such melancholy in this chapter the image of lying on the beach and listening to the waves, well i've never been to a beach (ok 30 minutes at one in California in 1997 doesn't really count) but that sounds very peaceful and then that closing statement just, it was like a slap very good chapter, very well done i think
  5. i ended up googling some of the places you mentioned, what a beautiful place unfortunately, i'm not able to access the pictures through the link as the link sends me to Dropbox i like how you said the entrance to China town at that entrance is a bit trite. but that's not unexpected. you should feel as though you are stepping through a doorway into someplace new and exotic
  6. all you long legged creatures must start out a little more wobbly than the rest of us. 😁 giraffes are amazing though. this baby dropped 6 feet to the ground at birth & then would have been on those legs & nursing & moving within hours
  7. he's adorable! just sittin' and chillin'!
  8. sitting here waiting for the groceries, thinking on this one. it is nice & can bring a feeling of peace to receive a smile. it wouldn't be farfetched to think that giving a smile would affect the giver similarly. thanks tim xo
  9. good night Sirs good night friends
  10. hello Sirs hello all we hit up the farmer's market today, got a lot of vegetables and some bread Daughter and i like to use the hummus on sandwiches, in place of mustard or mayo

  13. thanks Reader those hard sell tactics have a tendency to frustrate me, and i really didn't want that to happen this time good to hear the heatwave broke
  14. pat on the back for me i had to call DirectTV and cancel our service tonight i was prepared for their hard sell, "Oh, we have all these packages, let me see what I can do to get you to stay...." and he was loaded for bear! had all kinds of pricing schemes and packages i stood firm, said "no thank you, we just don't watch that much TV anymore. But i appreciate that you had to try." the customer service guy laughed, and we got the contract cancelled. hope everyone's having a good evening
  15. clever solution the farmers market is not allowing you into the stalls, not even to choose vegetables, and there are chalk markings on the asphalt where you are to stand that's what i was thinking!
  16. they told Phil today in their meeting that his department will be working from home until at least the end of August. the IT department, along with managers and supervisors, are now working on a way to get employees monitors and keyboards as all they were allowed to take with them were their laptops.
  17. thank you rick i just sat down at the kitchen table to boot up my computer for the day, turned & looked at Phil and said "i'm not sure i even want to go back to the office full time."

this is a wonderful chapter so much growth for everyone trust can be hard won, and oh so easily lost well done Wayne
  19. When we first meet N’than he’s in a bit of trouble. His lover is trying to kill him to further his own ambitions! It’s this first scene that draws you into the story, and gets you hooked. After he’s rescued, we follow along while N’than navigates his new life. In doing so, our young friend finds himself in situations he has little control over. However, along the way he’s met a few friends who are there when he needs them. tim has created another world that is just familiar enough that you can see it in your mind's eye. The people who inhabit it seem just as real as you or me. Take some time and have a read. You won’t be sorry!

  21. i too still have a 35 mm camera... somewhere... in the closet the imagery of the memory appearing, the idea of the memory, is profound, that's why we keep boxes and albums, and now thumb drives full of photos i'm glad you had a chance to write this, it's really pulled me in
  22. how would i feel, if all of a sudden, letters from someone i don't know started appearing in the mialbox? someone who obviously just needs someone to listen. i also love the reference to the phone book, "...the real deal, printed on paper, in ink..."
