Almost all of our polling takes place at primary schools. They tempt the captive audience with sausage or cake or other goodies - it is an awesome fundraiser for all the schools that do it. And there is a national website listing all of the goodies for sale at each polling place.
It’s a fantastic idea and we talk more about the democracy sausage than the actual vote
The important questions every election are
- slice of bread vs bun (slice of bread)
- horizontal vs diagonal placement of sausage (diagonal, weird because I would do it horizontal at home)
- sauces, condiments and onions (tomato, none, no onions)
While there is some “debate” about onions vs no onions, there is national consensus that the onions should be very very well cooked (burnt buggered is the technical term) - highly caramelised
