  1. This one. Hands off. He's been mine for over five years now.
  2. I already did mine almost three years ago. I married in October 2005, just over a year and half when Quebec allowed gay marriage and a few months after Canada allowed it nationwide. I married at a city courthouse at the Old Port in Montreal. The room was nice, roomy, and full of chairs. A very kind judge of peace presided the whole ceremony and it was done in French. We weren't dressed too formally. I wore sneakers, khaki pants, sky-blue-white striped shirt from the Gap, and a dark-blue cover shirt. Same for my husband, but he wore dark-green. We exchanged rings, kisses, and hugs. My husband gave me a wonderful statement that made some people cry. We only invited several friends and cousins of my husband. No one I knew came. I wanted my best friend to come, but he couldn't make it because of the cost of getting to Montreal. Yes, we didn't invite our family. Not even our parents. For a very obvious reason. After that, we walked around in the Old Port. And then to an Irish pub in downtown for an after-wedding party with beer and dinners. It was very informal and OUT of traditions. We'll do it better in the future once we finally live with each other. It's weird to be married and separated. We'll just have an affirmation of vows ceremony somewhere out in the countryside. I would still like it to be in fall surrounded by tree colors. We'll invite our families this time and make it more glamorous since our families now know we're married. Of course, again...the ceremony will be still devoided of traditions.
  3. Mini? I was away for a week and I drove 2500 miles. Do you really call that a mini-vacation? lol Thanks.
  4. lol I got into a huge argument with my hubby about the ring. I didn't really care much for them, so I was willing to buy one for like $20. But no, he wanted the one that cost $150. I'm like...f**K...I paid $235 to have a wedding done at the courthouse and he asked me to buy him a $150 silver ring? I thought, if I'm gonna get a fancy one, it might be in silver then since I don't like gold, but he tricked me by saying it's nickel-coated steel. I got pissed at him for pulling that on me and we argued on MSN (funny we always do most of our arguments on MSN and not in real life). I was getting low on money and I was trying to save. We ended up buying that $150 ring for the wedding. After that, I almost never wear it and neither does he. It's on my desk at this moment. All I care that we still have each other...so a ring means nothing to me. We're just not ring/jewelery-wearing people. Of course, when I thought I lost the ring...I went nut and moaned to him. I found in a couple months and he brought up the whole story and never knew I cared more than he thought. Even at $650... It was a very expensive wedding for us.
  5. For you all to enjoy. I went to New Brunswick, Nova Scotia (mainly on Cape Breton Island), and Prince Edward Island over the course of five days and 2500 miles/3750 kilometres worth of driving. I was dead tired, but I really loved the scenery on Cape Breton Island... So the Cabot Trail is a must-to-see! Prince Edward Island was so small, yet quiet and peaceful. Everything looked worry-free there and I loved the beach I camped next to. The sand was actually red, instead of the usual white-yellow. In New Brunswick, we mainly stayed close to the NB-NS border near the town of Shediac to sleep overnight before heading to Cape Breton Island. It was a wet night because it rained and the water got in my tent. I didn't realize I was sleeping on a puddle until I woke up nicely and suddenly found the edges of my blankets wet and saw water under my air matress. Took me an hour of using the dryer to get it fixed. Meh... Nova Scotia http://s81.photobucket.com/albums/j205/Cas.../Nova%20Scotia/ Prince Edward Island http://s81.photobucket.com/albums/j205/Cas...dward%20Island/ New Brunswick (the first 11 photos. The other photos were taken last September, not this month) http://s81.photobucket.com/albums/j205/Cas...ew%20Brunswick/ Enjoy.
  6. Ditto. I may have a week off, but I will not use it for traveling because mid-semester just gets much busier. Canadian semesters only last three months each plus three-four weeks saved for the exams, so they're quite intense. Fall is from the beginning of September until the end of November, then exams until the third week of December. Then winter starts from the beginning of January until the end of March, then exams until the third week of April. So it's very intense and I will have very little vacation days from school (just three and half weeks of them in total for one year including spring break and Christmas break). Sumer is just awfully long...from the end of April until the end of August. So that's why I could make it during the summer since me and other college kids will be free. Actually, we don't call it spring break because it's at the end of February...right in the middle of f**king winter!!! I was freezing my ass off in a snowstorm during my last "spring" break. from* not for. Why am I correcting my own editor?
  7. He doesn't need to know.
  8. I'd rather you be on it than in it. That way I can get you.
  9. We're getting too off-topic. I'll bug you in a PM.
  10. I am a little what? And remember, I am not a Walloon. I'm from Canada. So me knowing a little Dutch is not the same as the Walloons knowing a little.
  11. No. The Dutch did that for me. I still remember just a little when I learned a little Dutch a few years ago. I can still understand more than a little if you ask me to read a paper.
  12. I was teasing you if that wasn't obvious enough. En ik weet al, dat de Belgen ook Nederlands spreken. Yes...chocolats and beer... Yummy...
  13. Gary: My only piece of advices I could give to everyone is what to see in NYC. I go to that city several times per year, so I pretty much know Manhattan well enough to know what I am doing. Same thing for Philly. Other places on the East Coast, I only know Boston and DC a little bit. But I am an expert of Ocean City, MD and southern Delaware beaches. I spent so many summers there. June - July - August are all fine. My summer holidays start at the beginning of May and last until the end of August.
  14. You mean Belgians do not speak French? And no...very little experience with Belgians. I only met one in my life. You just make me think of fries with mayo sauce that I ofter get at Belgian fry bistro Frites Alors! in downtown Montreal. That and waffles and statues of a boy peeing.
  15. Ahhhh les Belges.
  16. I'm still bitter about the choice of time.
  17. Ok... Look at my name once again. And then my location. The 30s-40s is considered to be a raging heatwave during a Canadian winter. Want bitter cold? Try living through a day where temperatures stay in the single digits (in the 0F-9F). And when it's very cold, there is always a wind chill...down to -40F. So don't lecture me. Of course I never went to DC in January, but I lived in Canada during three winters so far. So 30s-40s are not that cold. Just wear a coat and a hat and you're find. It's not like we'll be outside all day long.
  18. We do that every weekend in Montreal of the year. It has the best nightlife in the whole country.
  19. I'll have to contest your choice of dates. Just when we get back to school after New Year. I may be a French major, but I get really busy and running by late January and September. During my peak, I would have to do three-four papers and projects per week. Again just around when we have our first week of school! During our exams before leaving out for Xmas. I can't pick any of these polls options because I am unable to do so. Can't you put in more summer dates? I feel one summer date for one place on the wrong side of the country is a poor choice. Plus, I am not interested following and dealing with two lovebirds on a honeymoon. I'll be just too cold-hearted at displays of affections. ESPECIALLY IN DISNEYWORLD. I swore my life that I will never ever go back there. Twice during my childhood was enough. Many of us are students you know. :s It doesn't get miserably hot in the North during September or miserably cold during December. DC is not miserably cold in January. You obviously forgot what it's like to be a college student. I love you. :funny:
  20. Woot! I have the dibs on the extra bed.
  21. I was crazy about him before that. Then one day I saw his shirtless photo. No longer crazy.
  22. Will you take me with you? We have one thing on common...we don't like icky touches with NY.
  23. For once Bablefish got it right.
  24. And I already vowed to avoid Florida for a longgg time when I was last there in 1997. I think we would have it much easier in NYC with all of that mass transportation and idealistic location. I'm no expert, but I've been in the city fairly often enough (like a few times per year). The subway system confuses me so much and I haven't figured out what the colors with letters and numbers on it. In Montreal, we just use a color and a direction name (like...green line named "Honor
