    Yeah those Sierras are a different animal all together. I've been in the general area of where you live when I was a kid (Lake Tahoe). I remember, to us, it was the summer but it sill seemed cool. It was actually really nice up there. Where I grew up was right on the edge of the Mojave desert, so it usually got to about 100 in the summer on the really hot days. Never more than like 105 in heatwaves. Still pretty hot though.

    Funny Bertie, but it's all relative you goof! When I lived in Cali, generally it would get rainy and cold (for us) but someone in the midWest or up in Gary's arctic hellscape it might just be spring weather. When I lived in Phoenix for a couple of years, you'd get a handful of rainy days with temperatures in the high 60's that they considered cold there, but then again their version of hot was 113 degrees F (in May).

    That's funny you mention Roger Ebert, I never saw the French version, but I was aware of it, solely based on Siskel & Ebert's "Worst Films of 1996." My dad sporadically would watch At the Movies as I was growing up. Anyway, when I saw the trailers for Jungle 2 Jungle, I was like, "isn't that the foreign movie that Ebert hated?" Also, you remember the character's name! I literally hadn't seen that film in over 20 years. He was cute though yes. Even for teenage Spikey who still couldn't figure out why he was watching this cheesy movie just cause there was a cute boy in it.

    You mean Jungle 2 Jungle Pagey. George of the Jungle had Brendan Fraser as the star. Now I liked Jungle 2 Jungle when I was a Freshman in high school, because I thought the main kid was hot, and he was in a loin cloth for like half the movie. 👀

    I just got through watching a drama with some of the worst subtitling, but I can't fault anyone doing that kind of work for free, especially not if they're not a native speaker of either language. Of all these shows I've been watching lately, there was one that was just so well done it was amazing. The series itself was filled with meta references and things that would go right over the heads of non-Thai people. They provided explanations and context, and even some of the ideas/concepts that make perfect sense in Thai, but don't translate into English. It was awesome. I guess after that my standards are too high.

    I'm really happy to hear that you working through that and having someone help you. I wish I could get that creative drive back, but it's been a long time... That being said I remember you said something a while back about needing beta readers. I've only ever done it for one other person in our little community here, but I'd be happy to help with that if you need it. I've been known to offer helpful (constructive) advice for writers in the past.
