    I agree. Bram Stoker’s original vampire rules were actually quite different for vampires than what Hollywood turned them into. But, since I am trying to keep within Comicality’s Gone From Daylight (GFD) context, I have to stick with his rulebook. His vampires are forced to sleep by day and can be totally destroyed by sunlight of any kind. So, he went along with the Hollywood version of vampires rather than with Bram Stoker’s.

    Tuesday So, the idea of coming out to my Dad has been rattling around in my brain all night. I keep going back to the feeling I have that staying in this closet, at least in most people’s cases, is something that will drive you nuts. Technically, I’m ‘not’ in the closet anymore. I’ve told Bobby, Stevie knows, and, of course, Billy knows. But, I’m not really, publicly ‘out’ out, if that makes any sense.     When writing, you sometimes have to make a decision about quality over quantity. Sometimes what’s not being said can be as important as what is said. Brandon is in the dark here about a lot of things going on with Billy at this point of the story. If you go back and check on Book 3 of The Secret Life Of Billy Chase for these past few chapters (they line up exactly per my response to them) you’ll see just how ‘lost’ Brandon has become in the mess of things as far as Billy is concerned. The voids are crucial to Brandon’s side of things. Trust me. Things will get more explanatory as the plot thickens.     § § Friday, April 7, 1990 It returns to me with crystal clarity in my vampire dreams: the night I died. I was inside the crypt under Poenari Castle. I lay in ‘state’ inside one of the beautifully carved ancient caskets. The dark surrounded me and I found some comfort in it.
