Wednesday I had a rather weird encounter with Billy and Bobby today. It made me a bit uneasy which is a shame after the glorious day yesterday was for Billy and me. Billy wasn’t at our usual meeting place to go to lunch together out on the lawn, so I went looking for him. I expected that maybe he had gone to his usual table to be with Sam or something, but I actually saw him somewhere between our meeting spot and the table. Bobby was with him. “Was Brandon’s hesitation—his initial rejection of Billy’s love confession—more than just insecurity? Could it have been his body, his deeper unconscious self, trying to protect him from something his rational mind had already Idealized too much?“ An astute observation! I honestly had not thought that deeply about Brandon’s motives to that degree. However, since Brandon is a reflection of me when I was that age, I can see where my own hesitation and cautious nature worked to keep me from the kind of relationship I could’ve had with someone like Billy. In the end, per this chapter, Brandon managed to succeed where I failed. He didn’t allow his fear to rule him and he found love. Whatever dangers lurk that threaten the relationship we will have to see and we will then see if Brandon’s subconscious was right to be hesitant or not.

I just watched this yesterday and I still can’t understand his reaction to that Mango Peach Pie at Jollibee. I’ve had it and it is DELICIOUS! I’ve also had one of the best fast food experiences at Jollibee. I had the Chicken Joy, Rice, and Shanghai Rolls (Lumpia Filipino Eggrolls). It KILLS KFC or Popeyes! If you ever get a Jollibee in your area I’d treat myself!
