I think there is something else, she sees a threat on her control of the staff, Adam is getting the lower echelon loyal to him, he's listening and making corrective moves. I wonder if she is hiding something. He has the boys in the palm of his hand, so if she tries something that affects the boys, he will know

JeffreyL. I am not a teacher and my expertise isn't education. If I was a teacher I'd like to think I would be an 'Adam'. Yes it would be difficult I suppose that is why many teachers today spend their own money .

You may be right. I would think any person, working ion this school, would understand the benefits of having the students telling their parents about the people working there. If I was Jane, I'd be b uttering their bread for them

In thye fashion of an English prep school. I don't think elevators were utilized. This school was built on a template of an English prep school. Why? Don't know since must of the boys are from across the waters.
