    Chapter 12

Billy was all smiles as he left the lockers. He gave his dad and mum a hug, while he jumped on me, almost knocking me over. “That was a fine run. Who was the kid that almost beat you?” The look on Billy’s face said a thousand words, “I had him all the way. He’s a good runner. Did you notice his warm-up, it was just like mine? I knew he’d be my competitor.” “Do you know why the guys in the green uniforms didn’t make it in the top five?” “No, I wasn’t watching their warm-up. The onl

    Chapter 11

I think here in the US running wasn't considered a sporting event in school. it was football, number one, basketball number two and the last was soccer. you only ran when someone chased you

    Chapter 11

Summer was my time to relax only it wasn’t going to happen this summer. I plan on going home to visit my parents for a few weeks, stopping at Bill’s, and then back to school. Mom and Dad were glad to see me, after the hugs and kisses from my mom, I had to tell them all about school and what I’ve been doing. Mom was especially proud when I told her I received my doctorate in education, she had tears in her eyes and Dad was all smiles. We talked late into the night, it was impossible for me t

    Chapter 9

Adam is a renegade among some teachers and if you follow the story I think you will like it. It's a long story, one of my longest. My hat is off to you and all teachers, you had held the future in your hands.

    Chapter 9

That was a devoted teacher. I bet Adam read out her. You are one of the lucky ones. For your story I'll bet there are at least 100 who had the opposite experience

    Chapter 10

These chapters are designed to highlight Adam's tweeting philosophy. Timmy was the history of the Indian wars, and Bret is the kid in the hospital. As for now. Adam isn't interested in women for marriage. so maybe a English lass may still have a chance.

    Chapter 10

It is got bad awe haven't met in person. We could chat all night over today's teaching as compared to Adam's views. For the record, being ion a soap box isn't bad, a lot of people became famous for their 'soap box' dialogues.

    Chapter 9

It's wonder the priests hiding in or near a fireplace didn't burn. I imagine it could be quite hot there. Those Jesuits were brave men.

    Chapter 10

It is and for a teacher that is an unpaid high. I know of no teacher that didn't smile when a student, considered by their peers as being dumb, did well on a test. I remember a teacher that would accidentally drop a paper with an A on it on another students desk, then claim it was a mistake, take the paper back and drop the correct one. The paper she took back, was the student who was mocked by his classmates as being stupid.. People learn at different rates, that goes for adults as well.

    Chapter 10

There are some teachers that cannot accept any facts that would challenge their preformed conclusions. Obviously this teacher did not think too highly of Bret to challenge his work.

    Chapter 9

I have read about the "Priest Holes" but never understood why they were needed. One of these day you can explain the history of those 'holes' or recommend a reading. I loved math and did well, I tutored a lot of my fellow class mates over lunch. They wanted to copy my home work, that led me to doing the tutoring

    Chapter 10

The next morning, I spent time with Billy showing him some preliminary warm-ups before the warm-ups on the field. “You know if you could get to your mom before you go to the gym, you could do a lot of warm-ups there and then just top them off at the gym. But remember, regardless of what the other guys say, warm up like we did yesterday and this morning. In fact, you should do these warm-ups every day whether you run or not. Now let’s warm-up so I can beat you.” “No way old man” “You’re

    Chapter 9

It was not my intent to publish this story to coincide with graduations, But maybe fate had a hand in it. I'm a believer in education, unfortunately many look at education as secondary and not a primary concern. We don't invest enough in education.
