    Chapter 22

Yes, that would be the best for Tony. Down sizing a farm is difficult unless you are able to sell off the animals to another farmer. Tony could always make sausage out of the animals except the horses.

    Chapter 22

So Charlie, how are the horses?” That opened the door to a discussion on enlarging the barn for goats. I was beginning to think these boys will make a farmer of me if I wanted to be one or not. The next words out of Tom’s mouth concerned expanding the garden. That led to a discussion concerning property lines. I told them I’d get a plot of the land, and we can have it surveyed. That opens the discussion of what we could do with the extra land. Tom said we should use the land to grow oats fo

    Chapter 21

I'm sure Charlie had friends back home, but never a family. Now he has a family. Tony and his family more or less adopted Charlie

    Chapter 21

I think Charlie will be busy keeping the cars and Tony's dad's tractors in good shape. There will be enough on the farm to keep Charlie busy. The sausages are overstuffed links

    Chapter 21

Charlie is living on the farm, the boys built a room over the tool shed for him. When he returned to work on the Olds, he told Tony and the boys he was retiring. They encouraged him to come and live with them. I hope this helps.

    Chapter 21

Two weeks later, they deliver my meat. I paid Uncle Angelo for the meat and started the salting process. This year Charlie would help as well as the boys. During Thanksgiving break, I started to cut and grind the meat. Charlie and the boys left to bring Charlie’s things back. I expected them to be gone for at least three weeks. I was surprised when they returned a week later. Looking at Brad, “I didn’t expect you for another two weeks.” “There wasn’t much to pack, so we thought we

What a better world this would be if people accepted each other for who they are and not who they love.

    Chapter 20

There are always those who hate the idea you are not as miserable as they are if you are single and they are married. Then there are those who are happily married and want you to be in the same relationship. All with the intent of getting you married to a woman or man. The key is getting you married. I have found best friends do not make a happy marriage. Do your own hunting, alone.

    Chapter 20

A clutch are the eggs a hen is sitting on. You need to remove the hen, I'm sure you have heard the term 'mother hen' when it refers to a woman as she treats her children. Yes, it would be difficult to separate the boys from the farm.

    Chapter 20

I think it is a one with entourage deal. I don't think who ever Tony marries would toss out the boys. They do a lot of the work not he farm and Tony could never do it alone even with a wife.

    Chapter 20

During the first week of the break, I spent time in the garden, with the horses and gathering eggs. I think I missed a clutch, and I noticed the day before the boys were due back, a few peeps in the yard. Mom and Dad came over on the weekend, and I spent Easter with them at their place. We made our usual Easter visit to our relatives. This seemed to be part of our holiday tradition. Mom had an Easter cake for everyone that we visited; that was a lot of cakes. I asked Mom if she wanted to de

    Chapter 19

I don't think after all those boys went through they would be tempted by hairy bears. Come to think of it, I never seen a skinny bear or one with out hair.

    Chapter 18

No we have jelly which is clear (made from the juice) and jam which contains the whole fruit. Animals can be a pest, not only rats, rabbits will do a good job on lettuce and other greens. I would have set all kind of traps after that. Mice I can tolerate to an extent, rats-no way
