    Chapter 3

Mom is being spiteful, she has no use for the bike.
  3. CLJobe

    Chapter 3

His parents are so stupid. The only reason they would hold back the bike is to hurt Toby. Like kicking him out isn't enough.

    Chapter 5

I didn't know that about the MLB pitcher. I remember when Baseball was number one, today it seems football has taken over, at last among my friends.

    Chapter 1

People who commit suicide never realize the hurt of those who loved them that are left behind. I think everyone at one time or another asks themselves if they should end it all. Life sometimes feels too hard to go on, then the sunshines on another day and we find the courage to continue.

    Chapter 4

That's okay, soap boxes are allowed as long as it is clean soap. 😀 Religion has played a major source of behavior that was not intended. My pet peeve, is that people pick the parts they want in order to serve their purpose and ignore the parts that contradict those purposes. The Falwells are a good example.

No it doesn't make you bad, it makes me mad. If I was a judge and a case that like came to me, I wouldn't set a sum, I garnish his wages for 20%. my rationale, 2/5 per adult (40% each). Leaving 20% for Toby.

    Chapter 5

“Do you know that boy over there? He keeps looking at you.” Toby started to laugh. He ran over and gave Ron a hug. A few other kids, patted them on the back as they passed. A couple of girls stopped and talked for a few minutes. You knew what they were saying, ‘where were you’. Toby stopped at his locker, took out the books he needed, then we left the school. “Ron, do we have to stop at your house for anything?” “Do you mind, I need to get clothes for the week-end and school on Monday.”

    Chapter 4

You would be right if the story was today, when I was in school, there was 16 in my grade school and my high school had total students approx. 500, that included 7th grade through 12

    Chapter 4

Thanks. Everyone must pay their dues. In Toby's case his dues is doing the homework he missed. I don't think he was upset. He was glad to be back in school. But I know his heart still hurt from what his parents did. That will take time, but it will heal.

    Chapter 4

The judge wasn't too happy with them. I would have raised the amount to 900 and if they balked again, the 1000.

    Chapter 4

They are, when you get to know Toby you will find a loving young man. Beats me how someone like Toby came from those a##holes

    Chapter 4

I went and took some money from my safe in my bedroom. I could hear the boys talking and laughing when I went to ask them if they wanted to go grocery shopping with me. Knocking on the bedroom door, Toby opened it. “Toby, I’m going grocery shopping, do you boys want to come along? If not that’s okay, I’ll just buy what I think you might like.” I’m not sure exactly what I said, but they both agreed to come with me. Shopping with teenagers is a new experience for me. I thought of how Clair wo

Yep, I think he's set. Even staying with Jeff, having Ron, there is still the hurt of what his parents did.

    Chapter 1

I agree it is hard for us to understand a suicide probable because we could never thinking of ourselves being in that position. But it happens and every time I read about it I feel remorse. I think the sadness comes from the knowledge that someone could have saved that person and no one did. Thanks for the comment. BTW Toby is 16

I think with Jeff's guidance and providing a home for Toby, will come out positive
