Pete's family is a typical family, there are those that openly accept Pete, those that abhor Pete and those that are indifferent. The clue will be Pete's parents.

Yes bigotry is alive even with some of the inroads that have been made, we are not home free yet. His sister is an open and loving woman as well as her family. I think his brother Paul has too much influence in that family

Pete did reach out, i.e. Christmas card, no return. Jimmy's family, except for his dad, is not mentioned in. Again his dad didn't want to much information about Jimmy's family

I did not tell anyone Jimmy's last name. I promised Jimmy's father I would not tell anyone. When Jimmy and Pete get married, they will determine their last name and the boy's will adopt it. Now they have Pete's last name.

A lot goes on in sleepy towns, blinds drawn closed, lights on low, hush whispers in the dark, smiles telling you they know something and not telling. If they are sleeping, that is only on the outside, they are covering up something on the inside. Looking forward to next chapter. RNN

Six am and I was awake. I quickly took a shower, shaved and brushed my teeth. When I got out of the shower, Jimmy got in and when he got out Butch got in and the last one was Bobby. Dressed we headed for the lobby. Breakfast wouldn’t be served till seven-thirty. “Let’s start driving and if we see a place open about eight, we can stop for breakfast.” As we drove the boys saw a sign for a pancake house. I think you are right, but I'm glad the manager stepped in. There are still bigots in this world no matter if the law protects LBGT people.
