    Chapter 86

I use to hate those assignments. Growing up in the 40's my vacation was staying at my aunts for a week or my grandparents for a week. Needless to say, it was as if I stayed at home. It was more fun at home, sleep late, and then go and play with friends until you were hungry. The boys in Italy had the same experiences. Playing with the village children, eating when they were hungry, and exploring. I wonder what it would like to be trained by a Chef.

    Chapter 87

School was to start in a week, that meant school clothes and school supplies. I stopped at the school to see what the kids would need. The principal gave me a list of supplies. Tablets, Pencils, Crayons, and a book to read during quiet times. I’m not sure what quiet times were. Tommy said it is after lunch. Mom and the her girls took the girls at the orphanage to get school clothes, jackets, school bags to hold their tablets, pencils and crayons. I told them to be sure they could hold a lun

yes, we don't call them ghosts but I'll bet you recall at times what someone said who is no longer with us. Doing that, for a moment, you remember

    Chapter 86

The boys had to say goodbye to their new friends. I told them to get their address and they could send them letters. Nonna gave them paper and pencil. Richie had to go and say goodbye to the goats, he had an entourage. Our car came to take us to the airport and Colin. Before I left, I asked Carmella to make a trip in late October. We agreed she would stay until Thanksgiving and return home for Christmas. I was thinking we would make a trip during Christmas break. Arriving in Rome, thre

Yes and total induction into the village for the boys.

    Chapter 85

You are welcome, Tony. I look at Tommy as the peace keeper, the one who is on the side, helping Richie adjust. Ronny is, in size, bigger than the other two. Tommy still has my heart, personal comment.

    Chapter 85

Kids seem to adapt, with the village kids and the boys. The young man will continue at the farm, there is a garden that needs to be looked after and a goat.

Armand is hoping it won't be the same that Tony exhibited when he saw the village.

Thanks. First they will need to convince the woman living there to move. Old people are set in their ways, hard to change. (I'm speaking from experience-mine)

Yes, but tiring for the boys. A lot of walking but when they home and see what they saw in the mural, they will be excited all over again.

    Chapter 85

Children and animals, a relationship made in Heaven. I don't think Nonna minded not having the flowers, her vases probably were full.

Yes, Armand has a deep love and respect for Carmella and the village. What is better than to introduce his family to his adopted family in Italy

First class 9is way over rated. I flew it once from US to England. I thought the service didn't warrant the extra costs. On oversea fights I did fly business class, Les interruptions. Flights within the States, I flew coach. The fights were shorter and I didn't mind the increased activity. I always laughed, it seemed everyone had to use the toilet before landing.

    Chapter 85

Tuesday morning, we started to repeat our morning jogs. Now we had the three boys along with us. Jogging through the hills, the boys saw some wild flowers. We had to stop while they picked a bouquet for Nonna. What normally took us 45 minutes, now took an hour and a half. The boys were having fun, that was more important than the time. This would become part of our routine for the two weeks we would spend in the village. Carmella was running out of vases to hold all of the flowers the boys

Children seem to trust their parents. Donnie and Tommie's excitement led them to laughing, Richie had Dad's comforting arm. Upon returning the bays will be expert travelers.

    Chapter 84

Arriving at the airport, we checked our bags with the porter at the entrance. We walked to the gate, where Colin checked us in. Tommy and Ronnie went with Colin, Richie stayed with me. He was tightly holding my hand and no one would be able to separate us. Colin came back with our boarding passes. Handing me the pass for Richie and I, “We can go to the lounge. They will announce our flight.”. We had discussed that the boys would sit with Colin and Richie would sit with me. We waited about 4
