Chapter 5: Old life, new life
Zuri commented on Zuri's story chapter in Chapter 5: Old life, new life
Thanks for your comment @drsawzall. Which places did you find choppy in particular? -
Sorry for that. English is not my mother tongue and even though, I spell check, it doesn't always find everything. But if you want to tell me, where I made mistakes, I'm happy to change them. Btw, isn't "typo's" a typo as well?
-
How did you come up with your username on here?
Zuri replied to Sherye Story Reader's topic in The Lounge
Frankly, when I created my account at Fandom (formerly Wikia), I wasn't very creative. Because it was a wiki dedicated to a mystery crime series, I decided that a name starting with "Agent" might sound cool, so I chose "Agent Zuri". Over the time, people I worked with on the wiki started calling me just "Zuri"—so that became my nickname and the "Agent" got forgotten more and more. Sometimes, people call me "Mr. Zuri" (which is a bit strange) or either assume Zuri is female, actually means "Yuri" or "Zürich"—sorry to disappoint you, but it's just a made-up name. As I said, I'm not very creative when it comes to usernames and since I identified with Zuri more and more, and it was both short and handy, I used it almost everywhere I went on the internet. -
Chapter 6: Bitter-sweet memories
Zuri commented on Zuri's story chapter in Chapter 6: Bitter-sweet memories
Right, they were best friends, and she used that fact in her Instagram post to explain how they became a couple. I'm happy you noticed that she hesitated having sex with him. We can only imagine what she thought when she left the next morning but let's be so fair to assume she didn't feel good about it but yes, it wasn't bad enough to make her stop. Btw: I hope, the "wow" reaction (that green emoji) is a "good" wow ^^ -
Chapter 6: Bitter-sweet memories
Zuri commented on Zuri's story chapter in Chapter 6: Bitter-sweet memories
@NimirRaj Well, I'll see what karma has to offer ^^ At this point, it's fairly safe to confirm that Gareth and Chase had in fact a history—as I hinted in the previous chapter, there are some similarities to "Geography Club" as Gareth points out in this chapter when he jokes about Chase wanting to keep it a secret. One big step for Chase is at this point, when he first acknowledges the fact that they are in love when he says "You told me, your parents wouldn’t approve of this … us." What do you think of Nathalie's actions? -
Gareth realized, he had left his jacket in his locker and re-entered the school building. When he walked through the canteen, he spotted Mrs. Fetcher and Mrs. Thompson. He passed their table and overheard them talking. “It’s important to use her pronouns correctly,” Mrs. Fetcher insisted. “But ‘she’ was born a boy. Isn’t that just a phase until it’s not fun or cool anymore or however kids call that today?” “Doctors considered her a boy because of her genitals.” “But isn’t tha

Chapter 2: Welcome back, John Doe!
Zuri commented on Zuri's story chapter in Chapter 2: Welcome back, John Doe!
@NimirRajI really hope, in the end, it'll all come clear why characters act the way they do. In chapter six there'll be some revelations. All I can say is: Some of your assumptions are right or very close while others … let's just read it yourself as soon as I publish it ^^ -
@NimirRajYeah, they are both very nervous. But there's more to it. Gareth doesn't know for sure. He just assumes it. Based on how new their relationship appears to be and how inexperienced they both are.
-
@NimirRajStella is still not that confident but tries to navigate through her every day life as good as possible. I assume, she's looking for at least one friend to support her but wouldn't admit that straight to someone's face. Fun fact: My spell checking tool always underlines words like "faggot" and tells me, that could be considered offensive. And I'm like: "Yeah, that's what it's supposed to do in that context! It's called authentic." You'll get to know Chase (without an i) better in the next chapters 😉

Chapter 5: Old life, new life
Zuri commented on Zuri's story chapter in Chapter 5: Old life, new life
Thanks for all your comments, @NimirRaj. You described Gareth's problem very well. Let's see what this is about -
While some of them thumbed through the playbooks, the guy who called the stage play a “faggot play” left the room. Mrs. Fetcher continued: “Claire, I’d like you to play the role of Min; Chase, the role of Kevin; Carter might be a good fit for Gunnar and Gareth, would you mind playing Russel? I thought a lot about who might have the right qualities and skills as well as being challenged just enough.” “Of course, Chase would make a great fudge packer!” a boy commented.

Folks, I really wonder what you think of Stella and Chase.

After lunch break, he met with Josephine at the library where she already had a stack of books in front of her on the table. “Hi. Before you sit down, could you grab me one more book I forgot to bring with me real quick?”, she told him, when he arrived. He went to the shelf, she described to him, and looked for the book. “Since this seems to take longer”, a voice said right next to him “, would you mind if I grab that book right in front of your nose?”

In case you think, I forgot you—you are miles out! The chapter has some tricky parts and I currently let an expert on a certain topic look over it beforehand to make sure, everything is written in a good way. So stay tuned, it's almost ready!

Just so you know: I planned to post earlier, but the next chapter will take some time because it's not fully written yet. But I promise, I'm working on that

Chapter 2: Welcome back, John Doe!
Zuri commented on Zuri's story chapter in Chapter 2: Welcome back, John Doe!
Well, hard to say if that's due to a possible lack of my skills to properly describe persons in English or if you spotted what I have in mind with these two characters. We'll see which one it is as the story progresses. I'm looking forward to your future observations on this topic Thank you! :3 Well, of course, if English is your mother tongue, you do not necessarily need to learn any other language ^^ -
The week passed and some more memories returned. On Saturday his father got a call from the car repair shop that the car was ready for collection. He asked him if they should pick it up today or on Monday before school and work. They decided to do it on Monday. On Monday morning his father dropped him at a parking lot next to the repair shop. It wasn’t open yet and Gareth had to wait ten more minutes, but his father had to get to work in time. When he had his car back, he still had a fair a

Thanks to all other readers who reacted to the chapter but didn't comment: Your reactions are also seen and appreciated. I hope, you're still there. Sorry that it took a bit longer, but I had to discuss a few wordings and the like with myself ^^ Finally, chapter three is currently in moderation queue. -

If anyone, including him, thought now everything was sorted out, they didn’t expect that he had to reconquer his body piece by piece. It got easier with every proceeding but at a cost of a whole lot of strength. But he didn’t give up. His mother came the second day after he returned to the world of the living. “There you are”, she said, when she walked into the room as if she had been looking for him the past few days, and he couldn't have been found. “How are you?” Now she

Chapter 1: Somewhere somebody
Zuri commented on Zuri's story chapter in Chapter 1: Somewhere somebody
Thanks for all your comments (especially @KellyONE, @JeffreyL and @Merkin who didn't get an individual answer). The next chapter is currently in the moderation queue. So you can read it probably soon. Enjoy! -
Chapter 1: Somewhere somebody
Zuri commented on Zuri's story chapter in Chapter 1: Somewhere somebody
@Talo Segura Thanks for these warm words. I did my best in describing a situation not every one of us has experienced. Therefor I made this first chapter rather abstract to leave it to the reader's imagination. I have to admit that I had a little help of someone who experienced the moment our protagonist has when he awakes and cannot move, so I added it to the first draft and that made it into the final result you can see here. I guess, I know, which words you mean by "translation difference". A few months ago, I had a discussion with a beta reader about a couple of words which are sometimes style choices or creative choices if you will. I did indeed post the story on the German site Boypoint first because I thought, my English was too bad to bother native speakers. But because Boypoint currently experiences a shortage of active users I got little to no feedback and I assume, most authors agree with me that feedback fuels the writing process. That's why I now mess with you folks 😄 -
Darkness. Floating. Nothing. Was he, or wasn’t he? Time did not exist. Nor did feelings. But somehow, he knew, he was inside himself. A prisoner of his own body without a way to communicate with the world outside. He hardly understood the meaning of “outside”. But then he noticed something else … A light—a glowing spot—and somehow, he knew, it was different from the darkness surrounding him. It was opposed to it. He tried to touch it, but the moment he did, yet it turned dark again within the sa

Gareth wakes up in hospital after being in coma for several days. As we go along he remembers having an accident. Other information about his life seem to be gone or inaccessible due to retrograde amnesia. When his socioenvironment helps him put the pieces together, he realizes something odd.
