My wonderful editor/mentor said to me in his wonderful, gentle, thoughtful way, (my remembering, not a quote), "Tim if you want to be a good poet, you need to take it more seriously." We went on to discuss a lot of things including near-rhymes etc. He gave me a lot of advice, and things he has learned the hard way, being a self-taught poet. i do my best to take his advice and counsel to heart. His last essay about rhyming, which is posted, is very good. I work hard to make rhymes as natural as i can. Thanks for reading and commenting, Thorn.

The Prompt: write both kinds of rhymed Couplets: This first was to be a couplet on the theme: Spring has sprung: Through dark earth pop the little heads of poppies in their flower beds. Real love can bridge a lot even when you're broken. i didn't think i'd ever love anyone, but i learned what it is. Someone recognized i was not garbage. These two can be okay .. they have seen the worst, now they will reach for the good. Nicely written.

Since travel is so awful these days. Michael bought me something to keep me occupied as i wait for buses for what seems like 30 minutes or more these days.. the latest kindle ... love is love is on there .. which features some poetry from authors (including me) on GA. My only published piece.

At first i thought you were writing about Tom Thomson ... a real life mystery which remains as such. But then i said no... very well written and absorbing. And a pleasure to see some really good poetry in the anthology. Thanks, Parker.

Funny, touching and poignant. Well written, real and honest, i like the men standing up for themselves. It seems everywhere you turn we hear that men are the new evil. The reason for everything bad. But we know that isn't remotely the truth. i am not yet that close to these men's age yet, but it comes to all of us. Thanks for a wonderful piece. I truly enjoyed it.
