  1. The halls for lone people, and a smile The worms who revel in the shades have grown thick again It’s shady and misty It feels like old paper in rain They writhe in slime again smell of the foul pus that they ooze Vomit themselves through the new old shades imposed as labyrinth walls as facts, unyielding and straight slammed into the mind, a bruise in the mind The new familiar halls formed by these giant planes void of window or gate are gradually filled with my oily swar
  2. Thank you! I think I do. But as the poem says, you still often get the urge to express more than what you think you're already expressing, in some way. You're forced to dance around the subject and can only hope that the intended meaning is conveyed. Often it is. But that doesn't help the urge. I hope this didn't burn your synapses any further. Thank you for the review and for what it says!
  3. More Obfuscation For You I know that you know, yet still there's an urge to tell or to show each single twist and surge concerning what's inside and between. And, giving in to it, I'm flowing out now; transcending notions to tentatively reveal the particles in mind and heart words normally conceal. As usual, I fail to do it spot on, pinpoint it -- I try, I work, to no avail. Words well-crafted and anointed hardly do it justice, the shining thing I feel. But you know, I
  4. "Who invited you?" "Magister Braegan," said Teague. The fat man with the dried scales all over his face consulted his little leatherbound folder, then nodded. "And you?" he asked Kjeld, who was standing a little behind Teague. "He's with me," said Teague. "This isn't a dinner party. You can't just bring a plus one to a demonstration," said the scaly man. Kjeld looked at Teague and started fidgeting with his sleeves. Teague's gaze stayed fixed on the man's. In fact, his dry, level expression
  5. The Philosopher There‘s a hole in his mind where the vapour flows out of a silvery kind a misty snake of cloud And everyone it reaches and touches as if sought is stirred with what it teaches and wakens to a thought Ideas spring up around him all fresh, delightful, young yet age has found and bound him though he has freely sung The new minds prove creative inspired with his seed and even time‘s sedative can‘t balk the force they breed.
  6. Possession and Relief You kneel before me, your eyes glazed over and looking up at me in a daze. That's how I see you down there on the floor, the abused carpeting, as I enter the room and walk towards you. The metallic echoing click of the door falling shut behind me makes you blink once, slowly, and focus a minute bit more. Why aren't you shackled, I wonder briefly. Doesn't matter. I'm lifting my shirt, dig my fingers under my ribcage and pull off this shrivelled, dried covering with a sound
  7. Play With Me Get sucked into the black hole and dissolve out of the white hole gently flows a kiss the dust of a galaxy ghosting over us casts shadows and the mist makes it all look dangerous. It is all I can do not to ignite but it’s pointless to fight, ‘cause I’m covered in tar And you’re a burning star. So we explode in bright light A red giant we are. We don’t see anything else, because it is just dark out there We shed light on ourselves, and don’t look anywhere but i

    Poker

Poker Two jokers make my hand a Full House It's the fourth highest hand you can get So I don't bother to keep my face cool I just wait and see how they fret The lad just across the table is young But he's good, and he's the only one laughing He's won quite a sum too already So he's either lucky or bluffing He changes his cards and looks what he's got Then he chucks two more chips into the pot Two others moan weakly, saying "I'm out" Our third man regards the young fellow with doub

    Be Space

Be Space Beauty lies in chaos, like stars are something wild, and dangerous, vast gas ... particles, rays, waves ... and we're just slugs from caves. To shine brightly, you only need to die. Like a real star explode into a searing glow, bright enough to leave ice cold, but burn all carbon. Into light, evaporate. Pass floating rocks, with ore inlaid. Melt them, have them gravitate into the mist that you create. Were a human this far out, with you out here in space, just come to loo

    Crocodile

Crocodile Ilja A fine scratch runs across my forearm. It's just short of six centimetres long, and if you look really closely, you can see tiny scab dots on it. That was the cat Tamara. I call her cat because it fits her. I'm the crocodile. No one calls me that, but I think I am one. To think of people as animals helps me deal with them. I don't even have to make an effort of any sort to assign animals to them. It just happens automatically. Tamara is a cat because she purrs and mews when she

    Chapter 6

I'd buy this in a bookstore.

    Chapter 2

Very interesting. Just check your grammar and expression. "He noticed a pile of scrap metal that went unnoticed before" should be in past perfect. Things like "button nose" in the middle of all this otherwise ambitious wording sound like a style break. "glanced to the open hatch seeing that it was indeed open" seems a little obsolete. "began to plot out their position" doesn't make sense (or maybe it's because I'm misunderstanding something). If Jenson is trying to find out where they are then he's not "plotting". Positions aren't plotted. Courses are. For example. Those are things that I tripped over when reading this. But you've made it intriguingly mysterious, and spiced it all very well with sci-fi tech terms, which is very nice. I look forward to the next parts.
  14. When winter break started, Liam went to his great-uncle’s in Redfield for the holidays, because his parents were travelling for work. He was going to turn eleven on his first day there, and he wondered what that would be like with just his uncle. The car ride to great-uncle John’s house was very long, and the man talked a great deal, so Liam fell asleep in the car. When he woke up the next morning it was still dark, because it was winter, so he walked around the room blindly to find a lightswi

    Free From Evil

It's in Magister Benir Tallstag's "Collection of the Banal", page 42 in most editions.
  16. "Because, I'm leaving you." Mala's voice was so strangely calm and sensible, and her face looked so uncharacteristically patient and - "What do you mean by you're leaving me?" Teague's frown held more than confusion. Mostly suspicion. He hadn't been aware of any particular bond they'd had, be it personal or otherwise. And now Mala was 'leaving him,' him specifically. Whatever did that mean? "I mean, I'm leaving the tower and not taking you," she explained patiently, in a tone that was normally

    Whispers

Whispers Longing leaves love lone and littered, Hovering about in halves -- Two of them, and sometimes bitter, But it never stopped our laughs. Will it, wish for wanton whispers Like the rustling in a tree Of a hot wind giving shivers And a sighing melody; Rays from up there feed us fire, Fuel shifting on the ground; And as steam and smoke rise higher There is just one lovely sound -- To the rhythm of this lyre We can hear our pulses pound.

    Batshit Mages

Thank you very much, and good - I suppose I'll keep using Teague and Mala then.
  19. "So, tell me all the details!" "No." You're insane. "I know you." "Come on, so it was felspar and malachite, and I know the pattern you used -" "No, I changed it." He swiftly brushed the red notebook into his lap and her hand slapped the empty tabletop. "And it's not even in there, so don't bother." "Then why are you hiding it?" Mala said with a challenging nod and leaned forward over the table. The typical glare of hers had a whole new quality of menacing viciousness to it. "Because it's m
  20. Prompt pieces in a high fantasy setting: Teague Imlach is a young wizard. He's been brought up isolated on the mages' island since he was a toddler and is a bit awkward as a result. Now he discovers friendship for the first time. There is much to unearth from a person's past as you get to know them, especially if they have seen war, the edge of the known world, and lived a full life before you were even born. And maybe there are different kinds of friendship.
  21. (S)He is not. But that's what happens when you're in the wrong profession, isn't it.
  22. (A cook's) Thoughts to end all thoughts Bruised wielder of hands, with a blade to replace your chopped up mind, your eyes and mouth like so many pans, you know what you are now – Not one of a kind. Less than one of many is now your second name, worth less than a penny, to them it's all the same. You fit now, they are happy. Who cares if you are not, who cares for all the sappy notions that you've got. Of using talent, skill and brain, of keeping faith and being sane, of being m

I always watch him in awe One could say I stare And I am aware of his presence of every minute he is there He turns and looks this way I switch on my charm Let him see me I pray and smile that won't do any harm He smiles back and says hello His voice is sexy as hell My mouth forms hello too my voice is muffled by the bell The teacher arrives she's always on time So we all take our seats He looks at me till the end of the chime My heart skips a few beats I'm already do

    Chapter 2

Your mode of expression is very clear and direct and accessible. It seems organic and makes him sound collected and matter-of-fact. Which is good. Or maybe I just like it. Well written.
