It's fun for me to see what possibilities you and all the others consider. Bringing something back from a previous book and trying to work out how that could be applied to his situation and other variables that may factor in is like candy for me. You make me smile big time that you are doing this. Readers could just as easily finish the chapter and move on, not caring what comes next, so Thank You, Clancy. Currently there's two people who know what comes in the next chapter, and one who knows the chapter after that. We keep getting closer to Monday were everyone will know where my chaotic thought process has taken us

Actually, your ideas are very creative. We'd get along very well. Twisted and devious is often used by my husband to describe me. Oddly, his muzzle is usually locked on shortly after that. 😇

Thank you, Raven. Aiden and Ethan were outsiders to the pack when they became alphas. Even though the leadership is accepting Trevor as the acting alpha, would it be right for another outsider to bypass the beta couple and take over? But as you point out, it would keep Trevor in the arms of both sexy men. I actually tried to work the conclusion of surgery into this chapter, but it became longer than I wanted to release. Just gonna have to wait another week to find out if Thad survives.

Thank you, Chris. Trevor's intelligent, cunning, and quite capable. He could always be the new Levi and attempt to manipulate things from behind the scenes. Randy obviously likes being around Trevor. Definitely can't forget the muscular redhead. Trevor does tend to be protective of those close to him.

Very good point. And with the wedding presents they received, Aiden and Ethan would likely fall into the millionaire category without factoring in the companies they control through the pack.

Yeah, it's not a full-proof system. Trevor needs to be as guarded with his emotions as possible when Dorian's discussed. Any notable reaction could possibly be brushed off as something else, but so far he's tried to avoid the situation.

Thank you, Astone. I guess I could have some fun and say 49/51, but won't indicate which way the scale's pointed. Trevor's got the makings of an alpha at least. He is a powerful wolf on his own and he's highly intelligent. As for a repeat of Book 1, he's gotten randy with Randy several times. Why would Dorian want to make his presence known when he can be a happy house-husband, without the headache of running his old pack, and stay home cooking, cleaning, and taking care of any kids he and Karissa might have?

I lost that years ago.

This is a fun thought. With Dorian, there were five people who knew what was happening, and they were all outsiders to the pack. The alpha pair, as well as Trevor are much more integrated with the pack now. Casey, Cody, and Darius likely know people from their visits, but presenting the death of a beta, they'd be around the pack members even more. Ethan could never pull it off for the reason you mentioned. It would be extremely difficult at best with the remaining crew. Thad's position would afford him an honored funeral, so Wade wouldn't be able to remain in seclusion for too long.

Have I mentioned how much I enjoy the interaction with readers? Because I do. Companionship is a good term for what Trevor and Randy have. The sex is hot, the cuddle time is enjoyable, and they both like being out in nature. The biggest difference is one's a lycan and the other is human. For any potential Trevor sees in Randy, he also knows the man has to follow his own path. If they are mates, he'd help in whatever way the two decided.

Aiden can see people for who they are. At least with those close to him. It's why he's surrounded himself with the talent he has. Trevor's always been the level-headed of the original trio. Darius is an equal counterpart, but not being a wolf has some perceived limits in the wolf community. Cody and Casey are the determined and protective bodyguards that will die before letting something happen to their alphas. Trevor knew to delegate as much as possible so he only had to handle what was absolutely needed. As for the McKinney's, it sound like the general wish is, let the carnage begin.

I'm sure they could keep their nature hidden from Randy, but there would still be all kinds of questions on why so many people are around. Why do two young guys that own things like the mill he works for travel with so much security? Now days, it seems. if you're rich enough to need protection, you're in the news enough that everyone knows you. Since Trevor's only in Burney until the end of August and we're just after the 4th of July, he could date for a while and move on when he returns to school.

I guess since I know the answer to that, it wouldn't be fair if I got in on that bet. Like anything else when I refer to something yet to be revealed, it's a 50/50 change. Randy does know everyone's at the hospital. Yeah, it is a very drool worthy group.

Thank you, Centex. There's an obvious benefit to having someone as level headed as Trevor as your beta. Even though he wasn't part of the pack's leadership, no one questioned, and in fact expected he'd step in and work the situation. Generally it would fall to the enforcer, but he was attending to what he felt was most important for his position, knowing another beta was present. Yeah, Trevor is realizing some things about the men he's been spending time with. Who's Dorian?

Thank you so much, imperfect. It's an extra complement when someone starts their comment with, "I don't regularly comment." Trevor has the makings of an alpha, and he's shown that here. He hasn't gone through the physical change Aiden did, but not every pack leader does. Also, Trevor doesn't have a pack of his own and he's happy being the beta for his friend. He did sort of apologize, but it was, "sorry, but not sorry." He could set out on his own, find an area that doesn't have a pack and set up one. He realizes there's a connection to Randy he didn't have with the women he dated. Plus the fact Randy knows Wade and has spent time around Thad, the guy cares about the only gay friends he knowingly has. It probably gives Trevor an anchor, even if by text, to deal with the situation. The core group needed to come together for this. They each have a role to play, but from the point of view of Trevor. A couple readers were concerned Ethan and Aiden would steal the spotlight when I brought them back in Embers. They had their turn as the lead, now it's someone else's turn. Each passing hour gets us closer to next Monday's posting.

Thank you, Patch. Trevor and Casey always lived in the shadow of Aiden. That's not a bad thing as he was the natural alpha of their group. Still, each of the trio in their own way, are powerful men and shine on their own. For a character I never knew what to do with, this has been fun to finally bring him into his own.

Thank you, Mike. Trevor took the most critical tasks and farmed out everything else that didn't need his level of attention. A situation like this, even with Trevor calling the shots, would require the alphas to come and help, even if it wasn't Ethan to try and heal their beta. It should be fun having the group together. It's a new experience for Trevor, but yeah, he does miss his guys in this.
