Hi, buddy! Good to see you back! How's everything in your corner of the world? I do enjoy these stories. But the holiday deadlines are killing me. And now, with the one-chapter-per-day thing here, I am not going to worry so much about nailing the holiday itself in the future. Robin calls Charlie and the gang together to discuss an interesting new mystery he has uncovered. This leads them off on a new adventure, just in time for the holiday. I haven’t posted here for a while and was unaware of the new rules allowing only one chapter per day. This means the story will not finish posting until well after the holiday is past. You win some, you lose some.

As kids, my brother and I would sneak from our bedrooms to the living room, where just inside was a large chair that blocked the view from the sofa where my parents sat each evening to watch Carson. We could see the TV, but my parents could not see us. My brother and I would lay on the carpet and watch Carson's monologue. Invariably, we would give ourselves away, laughing. As the monologue would come to an end (but never before!), we would hear my dad say to my mom, "That darn chair over there is laughing again! I'll bet that if I get up and go over there, it will stop!" That would be the signal for my brother and I to back-crawl madly into the hallway, and run back to bed. Years later, when I asked my dad about it, he laughed and said that EVERYONE watched Carson's monologue, but that after that, it was time for bed!

I'm VERY happy to see you back in the realm of science fiction. This series has always been fun. This chapter, with the guy's arrival at Daedalus, seems the set up for something bigger to come? I hope the next chapter arrives at lightspeed!
