Charlie was frozen, unable to believe that they had been caught. Second presence was by its nature fully immaterial. Yep. That bit of info about Pacha first appeared in the story where Charlie and Kip met Mike and Pacha, Is That A Rocket In Your Pocket, Charlie Boone?. And it does seem that our dark man knows about skwish!

I've never seen a 'pull' type fire alarm activate sprinklers. Those usually go off when heat melts a piece of 'thermal' metal, that then releases a water valve. Man! Can you imagine a warehouse full of millions of dollars of 'stuff' getting drenched just because someone pulled the handle by mistake? It's why you and I chose to write stories instead of sell insurance! 😀

Cliffhangers are a necessary evil in a story now and then. If each chapter ended in a yawn, we'd all have VERY long fingernails!
