That looks very much like a Scooby Doo ghost!
-
Really? Then I would have made you piss your pants the way I drove my Bee when I was a teen!
-
Why, Charlie and Kippy would love him, just as I did! Seems Killian has a little skwish thing of his own going on!

A tale of becoming, wrapped in a mystery. Of becoming aware, of becoming accepting, and of becoming the person you were meant to be. An exceptional cast of characters, both lovable and frightening, navigate their way through this outwardly straightforward tale that hides multiple layers of meaning beneath, with a climax that will leave you gasping for more. Hmm. Maybe I should have said that a little differently? A great tale, well-told, that should go on the 'to read' list of anyone who enjoys mysteries with a heart and a soul. I can't recommend this one more highly.

Anytime you read a story and the characters become people you like and want to know (or hide from), you've made a new friend in the author. An excellent, well-told tale. I enjoyed every second of it, and would love to see more!

Killian's father was a real piece of work. Blaming the world for one's own stupid conduct is the mark of a weak mind.

I was impatient with a few of Killian's decisions and actions, too. But that's the way people are in real life. Indecision, impulsiveness, and occasional blindness are traits of just about every teenager on the planet!

After eliminating Killian's dad, Todd was about the only one left who displayed enough anger to be the killer. Though...some of the things Jake did left me wondering. I even suspected Gilly at one point, but quickly dropped that. The 'leave me alone' statement of the killer muddied the waters a little. Interestingly, I never considered either of Jake's parents. Their parts were too small to be the killer. I'd settled on a member of Jake's family as the killer early on. Anger boiled in all of them, it seemed. They seemed a strange family, and displayed a lot of the traits of a dysfunctional one. But I was still somewhat surprised that it WAS Todd at the end. Very tight, dramatic chapter, and a fine final confrontation with the killer. Excellent story. One chapter to go!

Indeed!

Anything is possible in fiction, just as it is in real life. My gut is that the killer is going to surprise us by NOT being just some peripheral character seen once or twice. But, I'm just a reader on this one!

Thank you. You have to understand that when readers like you pour good things into the Booniverse, they will almost always come back to you.
-
Thank you. Now...what to do for Christmas?
-
Thank you, sir. Life is what you make of it. So, apparently, are foobears. So, if you meet one, be kind and gentle to it, and it will always love you back!

Our master popper suffered from a bad case of insecurity. But...what's Freddie Mercury got to do with this?

Thank you! Browbeat has already seen the movie, Space Cowboys. He said Tommy Lee Jones talks just like his uncle Krallnof!

THAT ad? That woman doesn't even LOOK like Kippy!

Thank you, sir! When I was a kid growing up, and my dad cornered me on something I had done that maybe I wasn't supposed to have done, he would smile at me and say, "Tell a good yarn, or take a good walk." If I felt I could explain myself and justify what I had done, I would 'tell a good yarn'. If I knew I was wrong and there was no explaining, I would 'take a good walk' -- to my room, and close the door.

Thank you! Your encyclopedic knowledge of the series always impresses me. I have to be careful not to trip myself up, anymore!

Chapter 8
Geron Kees posted new chapter in Who Was That Boogeyman I Saw You With Last Night, Charlie Boone?
In the morning, Charlie felt that his body had rested, but that his mind had not. He'd had Kippy to hold onto through the long night -- a longer night than those back on Earth, surely -- and Rick and Adrian had had each other, too. But the rest of their group had met the night alone, and they all looked a little weary. The walls of their redoubt had greatly reduced the sounds of the forest outside, but not eliminated them completely. Some of the voices of the night had been quite alluring, but o- 30 comments

But when has Killian NOT left Dr. Martinez alone? They virtually have never interacted before recently. What Batman said is the key to everything. The killer has already told us who he is. Um...I just missed some part of it, I guess, because I'm still not 100% sure! I am tempted to go back and start reading the story over, to compare what I know now to facts presented then. I just don't have the time, before it's over!

If I don't finish this darn story, the Christmas tale will be late, too! The next chapter will post sometime tomorrow. I wrote like crazy today, but all it seems to have done was make me crazy!

I suppose an interstellar cab bearing Hawkins could arrive, and Pacha and crew show up with Chirka and Durapar. My character list for this series is already laughably long. How you remember them all is beyond me!
-
That's about what Rip said when Charlie and company showed up at their door!

Well, here we are at a real "Oh, crap!" moment! Yeah, just Killian and Asher going alone is a bad idea. But I don't know if the cops would be better. Jake is likely to get killed in that scenario. “I wanted you to leave me alone, but that was too much to ask." That lets out a lot of people. I don't believe it's Killian's dad, because even if Killian couldn't see the face in the Batman costume, you don't live with someone for years and not get that sense about them: how they move, how they talk, just how they present to the world. I used to love how Superman just put on a suit and a pair of glasses, and how Lois Lane, in love with Superman, couldn't spot him right off! I'm trying now to think who wanted to be left alone. And who would have known Killian and stayed his hand at Seth's murder because of it. I have some idea. But I want to wait and see. Otherwise, a very sweet chapter. I loved the holiday spirit and the round of 'what I'm thankful fors'.
