    Chapter 19

Well, wow. Lots of new strings here. Poor Zach. He was a jerk, but he was young, and didn't deserve to die. I have to wonder WHY that happened now. Did he see something he shouldn't have? Did he do something to Killian, like maybe smash the windows in the car, that the killer got mad about? The meeting with Batman sticks in my mind. This guy talked about vengeance. And he talks like he knows Killian, and Killian knows him. Or, should know him. Killing Zach, if he did it, was a mistake. Until now, the police were not treating Seth's death as murder. Now, they will act like they have a serial killer on their hands. Bu, for now...too much new has happened. No guesses just yet. You are spinning a nice yarn here, though, Josh.

    Chapter 18

Lots of interesting things happened in this chapter. Batman would seem to be dangerous, killer or not. Gilly pissed me off. I was all prepared to like her, but after she set this whole thing up and then tried to out Killian when her plans went awry...that just plain sucks. Good for Jake that he was close enough to stop the actual announcement. Hard to say who took a rock to Killian's car. Could have been Gilly, or Zach, or...there are so many slimeballs floating around this story it's hard to point the finger at the right one. Just like real life! Killian is to blame for some of this stuff. For a guy that was almost killed, he was way too willing to walk off with Batman without knowing who he was. Asher may have just saved his life! And, Killian really needs to pick a course, you know? Before the boat hits the reef for good?

    Chapter 2

I have a friend in Montgomery County there. He says it's quite blue in the entire county.

    Chapter 17

Hmmm. Jake comes to mind as the conflicted boy that pulled Seth into the classroom and talked to him. He played a similar game with Killian at the house. Todd is belligerent enough that he could be the killer, but then why would he have spared Killian? He didn't know him at the time Seth was killed. The killer seemed to recognize Killian. Only Killian's father and Asher might have stopped at that point. The clue about the boy in the classroom telling Seth that 'all gay people are going to hell' also smacks of someone brought up among religious zealots. Or clergy? Something here doesn't add up yet. There are too many red herrings swimming about to see the mackerel! That's good, though. I don't like whodunnits where I have guessed the killer by the fifth chapter. It's possible that the killer is standing there right in front of us. But it's also possible that he or she is not!

That sucks. But I already know that even in the BLUE states, once you get away from the big cities and the burbs, it Arkansas all over again.

I did not know you collected antique Ouija boards. It sounds like fun. I just have one, next to my crystal ball.

    Chapter 16

Whoosh! There is a lot going on here, and all of it is CRAZY! Killian really needs to put those hormones in a bottle and THINK about where he's going - or NOT going - with Asher. Asher needs to stop being suspicious of everyone and everything (it can be hell living with someone like that, I hear), and give Killian a chance to talk. Or, maybe just to breathe? And Killian needs to listen to him and decide something! Gilly and Jake (and Todd and dad!) - this bunch is like what the Addams family might be like if they weren't mysterious and ooky, just creepy and kooky! And now Kane is moving in? That's great for Kane, but what will it do to Killian? Josh, you're a wizard with confusion! I love it when it seems like real life! Okay, I'll be patient and see what happens. Where's my Ouija Board? Are the spirits talking tonight?

    Chapter 15

Hmm. I have to wonder what Killian is thinking with. Putting that book back without looking at it was a mistake. But...people do things like this. Indecision is tough to deal with. And...it will lead to some revelation later, I'm sure. Killian's dad is an idiot. I don't care what sort of power he has. You can't get away with beating the crap out of people when you're in a high-profile position like that. This is going to ruin him. He can't be too bright or he'd know that. There are a LOT of people in this story to watch out for! And it's getting hard to tell which team some of these people are playing on! Actually, I love it! I'm having a grand ol' time.

    Chapter 7

People that use the law as a club to further their own careers always piss me off.

    Chapter 14

Cliffhanger! Some very interesting stuff going on now. Aunt Judy has basically verified that Killian's dream of the faceless man is real, and that Killian is apparently one of the gifted. So, why did he ignore Seth's display of the book under the bed? I guess too much, too fast? It'll come back to him. There is a lot going on, and new people dropping into this mix every chapter. Interesting that Asher's older brother knows about Killian and Asher. Jake is apparently interested in Killian, too. Our hero is leading a damn BUSY life just now! Excellent tale. The only thing I see wrong with it is the amount of time between new chapters!

    Chapter 1

I'm glad that the jewels I spent for the 'good mood' charm worked so well! Thanks!

    Chapter 13

Ah. Gilly's entire family seems to possess some sort of extra sensitivity, in varying degrees, with Aunt Judy being the icing on the cake. Killian would seem to be no slouch in that department, himself. Is Gilly's house haunted? Something is happening there. I sympathize with Gilly. It's tough to be in love with someone who is not capable of returning the favor. But she seems integral in some way to the story now. Zach and Jesse are idiots, coming to Killian's house and leaning on him at the front door. I see some time in handcuffs in their futures! It would be nice if Adam can get something done for Kane. At Kane's age, a judge will definitely consider which parent he wants to be with. This might be easier than it seems at this point. This chapter is important to the story. Several important new threads appeared here. I, um, sense it! 👻

    Chapter 10

I need to get back to YOUR story, too!

    Chapter 12

Ah, what a complex web we weave, even if we don't mean to deceive! Quite an interesting chapter, I think. I was surprised that Asher would show up at all. But him being mad over Killian dating his EX seems a little much. He's hurt and mad because Killian is apparently dating someone other than HIM. Asher needs to learn that he can't have things both ways. He needs to make a decision and stick by it. Interesting sequence with Seth in Killian's dream. What was the book Seth was trying to get Killian to take? I think there may be more of this. Poor Kane. I hope Adam can do something about that. Is the faceless killer really faceless? Or, it is that Killian isn't ready to see? I like Gilly. She will make a fun addition to the story. So far, so good. A great little mystery you are crafting, @Josh Aterovis!

    Chapter 10

If you're anything like most writers I know, you will wind up with many more projects you want to do than you have time for!

    Chapter 11

Intense chapter, and I don't want to go with my gut on it. Yet. It wasn't too bright for Killian and Asher to make out in plain sight on the beach. But at sixteen, emotions and hormones often run the show. The fallout from this mistake could be considerable, though. Killian should talk to Adam. Assault is assault. Zach and Jesse are asswipes, and need to be dealt with. Otherwise, they won't stop until someone really gets hurt badly. Asher is reacting to the moment, and it's a devastating moment. But his inclination to throw Killian under the bus is disturbing. Killian seeing his lunatic of a dad raving at him from the driveway wasn't much help, either. But I am not going to judge things just yet. We'll see how it goes. You definitely know how to tug the emotional strings a bit, @Josh Aterovis!

    Chapter 10

I simply have to ask what the HELL Adam ever saw in Kane's mother in the first place? You don't get to be a raging bitch like that in just a few short years! She must have been one all along. The only good things that came of that relationship were Seth and Kane! Great chapter, though. A favorite line: 'If I’d been wearing pearls, I would have clutched them.' Adam is proving to be a wise dad. Killian and Asher don't want to move too quickly (he said, totally forgetting the things HE did at sixteen!). Ahem. Poor Kane. At least he knows where he stands, more or less. I hope this will all work out. Very good story.

    Chapter 7

I am in the same boat as @Mancunian, in that I grew up in a loving and supportive family. I had an almost stress-free teen decade, with good friends and no real enemies. So, it's really sad to see how many people have had to deal with the flip side of that coin. It cannot be felt as an observer, only witnessed. But what little of it I did see was terribly unpleasant. How a parent can turn on their own child for any reason mystifies me. I understand that what children are about often impacts on a parent's own idea of self and their view of where they fit into things in the community. But for any parent to be more concerned with what the neighbors might say or think, rather than the happiness and well-being of their own child - some people should not be allowed to spread their genes around like that. Finding Tim's father holding the opinions he does is unpleasant, but not a surprise. The hostile father is such a strong theme in these stories, and it was bound to be there from someone. How this will go remains to be seen. Guy seems to have been struck by Tim's singing ability. I have to admit to having always loved finding out someone I knew could really sing well. It's just not something everyone can do, and having enough music in your heart for it to come out in your voice is special. So, I am anxious to see where we go from here. 😃

    Chapter 6

Another fine chapter that served to move things along nicely. I can't wait to see where this musical goes, especially now that Tim is being corralled into singing. Whether there will be a song that is openly for Guy, or just between the two of them, will not matter. As they say, it's the thought that counts. Snowy reminds me of an instructor I had in high school. He was a favorite, actually. Okay, onward we go!

    Chapter 9

Nice chapter, with some important ingredients working out. Adam reunited with his son, Killian reunited with Asher. I actually do NOT think Asher is a wuss, nor do I see him setting up Killian. I see him as a fairly decent kid who is dealing with some tough issues, just like Killian. It says a lot that he was able to straight-arm his demons and come see Killian. You don't have a crush on someone from the second grade on, and then turn around and deliberately hurt them. Kane's mom sounds like a real, um, not nice lady. Okay, a bitch. She and Killian's father would make a nice pairing. I wonder which one would kill the other one first? Zach is dangerous. Nothing worse than this type of narrow-minded idiot thinking he has some right or duty to police the lives of others. Like we don't have enough of this sort around already. Jesse appears to be a willing audience for Zach's little vendettas, empowering him. A bad combination. But...for the moment, things are looking fairly good for the people we care about. So, what will happen next to shake things up? I look forward to finding out!
