  1. Raven-- Thank you for another great review. Again, my response to it does not show in the review section. Sufferin' Succotash!
  2. Geron Kees

    Chapter 4

And I appreciate your bottomless supply of warm and kind comments!
  3. Geron Kees

    Chapter 4

Wow! Think of all the opportunities I'd have to write Charlie Boone holiday tales!
  4. Geron Kees

    Chapter 1

Twombly is a place I have visited several times, and would always like to go back to again.
  5. Geron Kees

    Chapter 1

I missed this comment somehow. And yet, it is still a good one four years later, and prescient, too!

    Chapter 16

Aha! You are secretly a mage in charge of keeping the sacred graphics safe from evil, and ensuring their use is only for good...and humor!
  7. Geron Kees

    Chapter 16

Since I already know the story, the comments are the best part for me!

    Chapter 16

Speculate away, my friend! It's good for you!
  9. They found two rows of generous seating within the wagon, one down each side of the car. Mos suggested they take seats, as once the wagon started, it would accelerate very quickly. They moved to the front of the car, where they could see out the forward window, and dropped into the comfortable seats. Once again Jamie marveled at how soft and inviting, yet firm and supportive, the ancients had managed to make the things they parked themselves upon. The doors of the wagon whispered closed, an

I love stories like this, too. And guessing is fine. I just mean, it's way too early for me to be giving answers!

    Chapter 15

I've tried the crazed look in the eye thing, myself, and it doesn't work. Too many out there for which the look is natural!
  12. Geron Kees

    Chapter 15

Except for the lipstick part. Ivor prefers the natural look!
  13. Geron Kees

    Chapter 15

You need to copyright this stuff!
  14. Geron Kees

    Chapter 16

I like the way you think. But it's too early for guesses!
  15. Geron Kees

    Chapter 16

I wouldn't call it 'proof', not just yet.
  16. Geron Kees

    Chapter 16

I like your definition: 'Adventure, pure and simple'. Adventure tales are likely among the earliest sort of fiction that humans shared with each other. It's because they appeal to us so strongly that we still have them today! I generally don't post a story until it's complete. So there really is no reason NOT to post a chapter each day!

    Chapter 16

Does Thorvil have to be talking to Snave? This story also predates the Doors series. I hadn't really thought of the parallels between the two. Actually, I may have another story ready to go not long after this one completes. But it will be new, not one taking place in any world I've created yet. Sorry about that! 😁

    Chapter 16

Hi John, And thank you for the kind comments. I do plan to get back to the Door series at some point. Derry and Cally and Granddad are hardly done solving their own mystery! I've always had a fascination for stories of fallen technical civilizations, and the potential for mystery that involves. So far, no one has quite put their finger on the true mystery here. Yet. Not enough clues, really! I hope you keep enjoying the story! Best, Geron

    Chapter 16

    Makes sense to me.
  20. Geron Kees

    Chapter 16

Your last sentence is nothing, if not prescient!
  21. Geron Kees

    Chapter 16

Having lived in New York City for six years, I know EXACTLY what you mean! But, patience, is all I can suggest, for now. Too soon to say who the ancients really were!
  22. Geron Kees

    Chapter 16

I think Khybeer wanted them to understand the map that his people used, before showing them the map of the ancients it was based upon. But the lines drawn for the tunnel system were not on the copy map, only on the original. I guess it's an Iricawa thing. Yes, Dorf was using the term continent the same way we do. There are no stupid questions, my friend. Always feel free to ask, if something is not clear. Because, if something is not clear, it's my fault!
  23. Geron Kees

    Chapter 16

Once the size of the forest became apparent, having them walk across it in 36 chapters seemed tough for even me to believe!
  24. Geron Kees

    Chapter 16

That is a great typo you have there, my friend! I didn't really see those little gizmos they guys found in the box as fuses. More like the sort of smart modules you might find in a computerized system. But a failure is a failure is a failure, as my rocket scientist grandmother used to say.
  25. Geron Kees

    Chapter 15

    Your dogs don't TALK? <gasp?>
