The chapters are posting at this point at somewhere after 3:00 PM EDT, which would be just after 7:00 PM GMT.

I would think that apprentices would all be different. There would be no set time frame for an apprentice to rise to the level of a master. Each would have a different level of ability, a different rate of progress. I actually hadn't given thought to the idea that the position of 'master' would be an accredited position, subject to passing tests or knowing specific things. I looked at more like the young man who finds he enjoys working with wood, and progresses to cabinet building, turning out furniture of ever-improving quality, until one day, some years later, everyone just sort of acknowledges that the guy is really GOOD at what he does.

I guess it's a rule of all quests, that the participants all grow closer with time.

I am reminded of Thomas Edison's early experiments with electricity, and how he fumbled in the dark, literally, as he learned. His feel for electricity - what it was, what it could be made to do - increased as he experimented, and his insights multiplied. We all know what came later. His initial experiments with electricity, at that time a scarcely understood force, eventually yielded nearly 1100 patents in the field. He became a master at his particular magick, as it were. Jamie is, I hope, going to suddenly find the darkness waning, and a new and wonderful light ahead of his explorations.

Nah. Why buck the system? I always go with the time the system offers for the next posting. For all I know, I can back that up ten minutes and keep it right at exactly 24 hours between postings. I always see a few stories posted right around my chapters, so figured the system was busy posting multiple entries at any given time, and that there was some small delay. I have noticed lately that if someone leaves a story review, and I respond, the response is not saved and displayed. Definitely a glitch there.

We seem to be losing a few minutes each day on the posting time. Chapter 1 was posted at 2:21 PM, and now the posting times have pushed back to well after 3:00 PM. Must just be due to something in the way the system works. Just wanted you guys to know that I have no control over this part of the posting interval. Whoo-hoo!

I have always thought that one of the BEST parts of reading a story in chapters is the short wait before the next chapter unfolds, where imagination takes hold!

I'm happy you're enjoying these stories again. There will be a new Charlie Boone story for Halloween, and one for Christmas. The July 4th tales are probably done, as such. I have so many other things I want to write, and the CB series takes up a lot of my time. But there will also be random CB stories appearing when the urge strikes, in addition to the Halloween and Christmas outings!

There are going to be a multiple of ideas for readers to consider as motivations here, which is as with any real series of events in life. I love the speculation of you all, which shows wonderful imaginations! But I can't offer clues, lest I spoil the tale!
