    It actually did. At least, it grabbed the attention of allied forces, who flew over places they had abandoned and thought they saw aircraft on the ground!     Truth. Recognition is a complex process within our brains that sums up what our senses are telling us and compares that information to patterns the brain is already familiar with. Stray a little outside the parameters of what we can recognize, and we might still be able to make the leap by inference. Go too far, though, and it may as well be like there is nothing there at all.
