My Dorf is taller, and carries a sword instead of a golf club. He's also younger, better looking, and dresses better. And, no mustache. But, other than that, hell, they could be brothers!

I'm not sure what you mean by the craftingmom part at all. She has nothing to do with this story, anyway. I don't work with an editor, just a beta reader that looks for my typos. I'm sure she is an incredible editor, if you say so. Snave needed a voice, as he is an integral part of the tale. And now, he has it! 😄 Um, Sir Dorf is likely an expert lopper, too!

Jamie has an advantage just now that will help him learn at an accelerated pace. But that is not going to be a replacement for experience. Urvan has years as a master going for him. Flitch gave Jamie the white pearl so that Jamie could always find him (Flitch). Just as Jamie lives in his real world and visits the nether, Flitch also hails from a real world - somewhere - and visits the nether. The pearl allows each to know when the other is visiting the nether, or to call for the other if they aren't there.

Sedwick provided them with a wagon and driver to take them back to town. The driver, one Dorf, was a young man with a friendly, talkative air about him; but also an alertness that was not lost on either passenger. It actually didn't take all that long to write this story - when I was working on it. It was just constantly interrupted while I wrote other things, like 20-some Charlie Boone stories, and a few others. I just finally decided I had to finish it. And here we are!

Wow. Very thoughtful responses. Your analysis of Urvan is interesting. His desire for a pretty face does seem to be paired with an interest in power as well. Gaydar is a bit of magick, anyway, isn't it? As for Urvan's secret, it will come out. '
