When people get to know you, and like you, and decide to be your friend, it doesn't matter what others say about you. Friendships are possessive things. We 'invest' in others, and the rewards are the company they give, and the warmth they add to our lives. That is always worth protecting, and good friends will always step up and stand by your side...and we will do the same for them. Andy and Donnie were well-liked before Dickie started trying to trash them. Being good friends to others was the best protection these two could have!

I think it's safe to say that Dickie and friends will have a difficult school year ahead of them. Absolutely, that makes sense. I'd be the first to agree with you that 'perfection' comes in many shades!

Thanks. I felt for this story that the suggestion that Dickie and crew made themselves pariahs among their classmates enough. Being snubbed at school by one's peers makes for a very difficult education!

I always try to NOT spoil the ends of my stories.

When I was in school, drama club was not associated with being gay. That must be a more modern view. Back then, everyone either wanted to ham it up onstage, or point the lights in the wrong direction. It was considered a sort of 'free' class, where everyone had fun, and there was no homework!

Music is one of those things that everybody can appreciate. Even bad guys have to pause and smile when a song they like comes on. If we could bottle that, we could rid the world of bad guys!

The night of the play came. I was nervous all day at school, and at football practice after; but as we met backstage to begin our first night as a team, I felt a weird kind of calm coming over me. I think because I was feeling that it was ready to happen, that it was almost over. In a way, I was excited. We'd put a hell of a lot of work into this, and rehearsed our asses off.
