We have posted a new version of Stories on the site. Things are going well so far. It correct a number of small issues. We've also added the ability to put up a goal box for feedback items. You'll see it on various points on the site. Be sure to do your part in hitting our goals to give Authors more feedback!

Follow Member, Follow Author and Follow Story
Myr posted a question in Notifications, Messages & Following
What is the difference between "Follow Member", "Follow Author" and "Follow Story"? "Follow Member" is the option on the forums member profile page. Following a member will alert you to all their new content. "Follow Author" is when you follow an author from their stories profile page. Following an Author this way alerts you to new stories they post. "Follow Story" is when you follow a specific story from the story's Table of Contents page. Following a story will alert you to new chapters and/or new chapter comments, depending on your Notifications settings. -
Question: Follow Member, Follow Author and Follow Story Short Answer: Follow Member alerts you to all new content from member. Follow Author alerts you to all new stories by author. Follow Story alerts you to all new chapters of story. View full question

I've clarified. it now says "Follow"

Ha Ha. I enjoy watching my archaic 4k Blu Rays on my xbox. You just can't get that quality audio and visual even with a 1 Gigabit fiber internet connection. I also have the SNES Mini and NES mini for when I'm playing games from my youth.

Spoiler Tags are meant to hide text from other readers so you do not accidentally spoil content. The user can click on the spoiler text and the text will be displayed. There are 2 ways to use Spoiler text: Type the content you wish to hide with spoiler tags. Highlight the content. Then press the "Spoiler" button on the text editor. Press the "Spoiler" button first and then type your text in the pop up box.

Question: How do I use Spoiler Tags? Short Answer: Highlight text you wish to put behind spoiler and hit the spoiler button (eyeball) on the text editor. View full question

I agree with that much. I'm a primary Xbox player... my absolute worst complaint about Playstation 4 is how horribly god-awful their controllers are. If you have big hands, which I do, the dualshock sucks horribly. This is incorrect. The Xbox One Controller is Bi. It can use a rechargeable battery pack OR batteries. I've been using the rechargeable battery pack from the start. This provides the consumer with maximum flexibility. Including using rechargeable AA batteries if you don't want to get the battery pack. And when the pack dies, and they do after a number of years, you can just get a new one instead of having to throw out your controller and replace it like what happens with PS4's Dualshock controller. As for what works best for Mac and bluetooth? I'd give advantage to Sony on this because they've been in the Bluetooth controller space longer. I've had no troubles using the xbox controller with my various windows pcs though.

After dropping back from 2 years of weekly newsletters to monthly updates in 2019 on our outside email newsletter, we have decided to stop using the outside service altogether after the final newsletter which will be sent on Sunday, July 28th. Going forward, we'll be sending emails with the news members want and need to know directly from Gay Authors! If you wish to receive the occasional email newsletter from the site, then please go to your Notification Settings and chose one of the two boxes highlighted here: This news is in this month's newsletter too for anyone who misses this blog. Moving forward, we'll be able to bring you site news, tips, announcements, games, and more specialized updates quicker and easier from GA! We think it will be far more useful to send out emails as changes and things happen on the site for GA members, plus it keeps all your notifications here from one place. Don't forget to share this with your fellow members, especially if you know they like to keep up with all the site news and changes (use at mentions in the comments, share this blog, shoot them a pm now!) and let's get everyone to change their notification settings so they're ready for the switch!

Yes, I can confirm there is an bug. I've reported it to our programmer. Please be patient as it is corrected. (And you don't need to add more examples)
-
Quite right. Yes, social media has its uses, but given a finite amount of time available in a day, content generated on Gay Authors must have priority. We simply don't have enough people to run GA and keep all the stuff going here and deal with stuff off site as well. If we had more people actively helping and volunteering on teams, volunteering for blogs, working with us to create more stories for Premium, and yes social media work, it would be better. It would be great if we had more non-authors step up so that the authors had time to author up more stories for us I should also add that I'm it on technical support these days. So, I have to do all the maintenance on the server in addition to working with our software development person. (One reason I wasn't able to finish any anthologies for the last round).
-
Please clear the cache on your browser and see if it recurs after that.
-
I have not seen it yet myself (though I use FireFox on the site, mostly). I have opened a support request with the forum software folks for further guidance on how to get this resolved.
-
@Carlos Hazday Carlos, there is definitely a bug there. I've reported the issue. Currently, the series numbers are messed up, the last few counting by 2's instead of 1's. But Hail is in slot 11.
-
I've not seen the issue (yet). It might be a corruption in cache or a change the browser. The code hasn't changed on the site for awhile now.
-
@Carlos Hazday, Tim would be correct. I'd need the proper order. I tested moving your top story and it worked fine. I signed in as you, and it worked fine with your permissions. Is there a specific story that is not moving? What is the order supposed to be?

As part of keeping up with changing times, we have done a consolidation of forums and clubs and have removed stuff that was not getting enough use. This will hopefully consolidate our active content into less places as well as making the "Fluid View" of the the forums more useful. The changes we've made: Clubs o Closed Fanfiction Club and moved topics to Writer's Circle - Specialized Fiction Forum o Closed Sci-Fi Writers Club and moved topics to Writer's Circle - Specialized Fiction o Closed Fantasy Writer's Club and moved topics to Writer's Circle - Specialized Fiction o Closed Marketing Club and moved topics to Writer's Circle - Opportunities o Closed Tech and Science Geek Clubs and tag topics with 'tech geeks' and moved into The Lounge o Closed Premium Content Authors. New calls for Premium Content will appear in Writer's Circle - Opportunities Forums o Sports Forum - tag all topics from last year "Sports" and moved into The Lounge and remove forum o Video Gamers - tag all topics "gamers" and moved them into the Lounge and remove forum o Moved Writing Community Category to number 2 slot under GA Community o Moved Teen Spot to Community Fun and Games at bottom

Me too. I'm still trying to figure out how EA will manage to totally screw this up as they have with every single Star Wars game they've made so far. (Even if SW Battlefront 2 nails the visuals and sound perfectly...)
-
It'll be interesting. I am a Microsoft guy primarily, as far as games go. So, I'll get the new scarlet when it comes out. I'll get a PS5 as some point as well, because they will have some games in my 'must have' category. Switch is great for relaxing, light stuff. I won't touch Google Stadia with a 10 ft pole though. I don't trust Google. They'll probably shutdown their gaming service about 18 months in. (like they do with pretty much everything else they start outside of search and advertising)

I'll probably remove the link title option altogether going forward. It was there for legacy reasons. A simple ' shouldn't crash the system. lol.
-
The ' is back in the link for the moment, so the old links work. Do not edit it again for right now. I've reported the bug to the programmer. Always use the automatic link title. The bug, by the way, is that the link title is supposed to strip punctuation on its own.
