  1. It was just a moment of time before Christian let me go from the hug. I noticed that Colin had stiffened looking very worried as we had hugged. I broke away a little from Christian. “I can’t absolve you any sins, Christian. I can promise I’ll be around.” Colin came over a little quicker than he would have, but hopefully to stop…whatever…who was I kidding? Christian read signs people couldn’t imagine, so he probably knew what Colin was doing. Christian chuckled. “You husband is concerned
  2. I threw my hands out in frustration and this man…claiming to be Dracula raised a single eyebrow. “Mister Articulate strikes again.” I moaned. I noticed this…whoever he claimed he was, wasn’t bothered by it. The corner of his mouth turned us slightly as if it amused him. The man that said he was Christian walked forward a little. “Now, why would you say that what I said was…bullshit?” Christian folded his arms over his chest. “You didn’t even hesitate. You simply said yes.” He waved at hi
  3. We ended the night…well, it was practically sunup when we got back to our house. We had told Eva we wouldn’t be up for breakfast and to not worry about making anything. Sliding into bed that night, Colin pulled me close, resting his head against mine. He smiled as he let out a breath. “This evening was…” he didn’t say anything for a few seconds. I chuckled. “Unexpected?” Colin laughed. “It was that.” Looking in his emerald eyes, I kissed him gently. “Tonight was interesting. I ne

After our meal, we got ready to go out on the town. This was my first exposure to a true European village, I thought. Because of that, I thought there weren’t going to be the flashy buildings and lights being one of the things of in a modern city or town. There really weren’t that many, but there were a couple of places we heard when we walked the streets. I knew there was more to this village than just being famous for that one vampire. What I found amusing was when we were getting ready, I fou
  5. The flight was a long one. We did stop for refueling. We weren’t a big plane. Well, it was not the size of one of those big passenger planes, but it was bigger than most there. We landed at the Targu Mures Airport which was a smaller airport just north of Sighisoara in the morning. So, we had no problems. There was one person that met us at the airport from customs. We had to show our passports, but when he saw what we brought into Romania, all documented with paperwork for both equipment and me
  6. I chuckled and nodded. “Dracula was after your time. He is the most famous vampire that really made an impact with the 20th and 21st Centuries.” I quickly told him about the novel and movies that came from the story and embellishments on the theme. Amasis had more questions, but I just took his hand. “I’ll get you the book, but know this story and others shaped our fear of vampires. Many contain the magic we are supposed to have and that power we are supposed to have in us.” “I don’t read En
  7. Colin, Devon and the VUN seek the most famous vampire.
  8. We did just what Colin said we’d do. I don’t know how you deal with having suddenly nothing to do, but make love; which I thoroughly enjoyed, but I really did have a little issue with having nothing to do. I loved Colin, so spending time with him was great. Loving him was wonderful. The problem was we had nowhere to be and no set time to be there except when it was time to leave, but that was two weeks away! I fought the feeling that I had to be somewhere at a certain time. Some habits are hard

    A Blue Wedding

Yes, you have to wait. I'm writing it now. Real life will interrupt, but it's on the way. The new book, Blueblood 4 will be...well...you'll see.
  10. The wedding was beginning. I am sorry, it was pretty, but some of us weren’t that…motivated to be that fabulous! Here it is, it was happening in the yard. There were ribbons and it was blue and white. Not the rosy pink for most weddings. What I didn’t expect were the roses, because they weren’t pink or red. They were blue. Yes, we had blue roses with white roses. Later I’d find out how she did it. There were other roses that were white, so that made the blue in the other roses easier to see. The
  11. George flew in the next day with my mother. She saw me and covered my face with kisses, which I let her do. She was my mother. She loved me. I laughed after a few kisses and hugged her. “I’m okay, Mom.” She shook her head. “I can see that, but I was so frightened.” I shook my head. “I wasn’t.” I smiled. “Well, I was a little. Who knew what they would do, but they wanted me alive to find out more. I knew they wouldn’t kill me.” I turned toward Colin. “I knew he was coming. I knew they
  12. They left me alone a minute while as I grieved for Gizmo. It was just a few minutes before I felt Colin reach down and pull me up. No words were spoken, he just hugged me. “I’m sorry, baby,” Colin said softly. “We have to go.” I nodded wiping my face. “Okay.” “We’re not exactly here with permission.” Colin smiled. “And we would be where?” “This is an abandoned World War II lab/bunker. It was a hidden lab during those years by the Nazis to do…all kinds of experiments.” Colin s
  13. The man I saw in Fredrick just didn’t…make sense. He brought me into a dining area. There he made me a sandwich and he made one for himself. He brought himself a beer and offered one to me. When I shook my head, he shrugged. “We have sodas.” He offered. “Coke, Pepsi or…” I smiled. “A Dr. Pepper?” Fredrick smiled and nodded. “We have a Pepper here that works with us.” He went to the refrigerator and brought the familiar can to me. He sat and relaxed. “Care to answer some more question
  14. I remember coming to a little and then another feeling, this time in my arm and I was out again. I did occasionally come out of…whatever I was in. Did I hear the sound of engines? I was on a plane? The floor was moving, sort of floating and there was also the occasional turbulence that would shake me. At first, I thought, damn, we’re going somewhere again? I did remember Colin going to take a shower. Colin! I tried to wake up, but it was too hard. I had no concept of time and no recollection how

  16. The end of the year and a New Year’s Party we had with just the four of us. Mom and Dad decided to spend their first New Year’s alone, not that I blamed them. Gabriella and Alex were doing the same as they celebrated alone. Amasis knew about a celebration for a year and got more into this day. With Amir, we all watched the ball drop in New York. The year began and I was working more with Amasis to get him to understand this world. I got him books to help him as English would be his other maj
  17. Yep.
  18. It was all set up for a nice party. There were good smells coming through the house from the kitchen and the combination of the greenery for Christmas that had the effect on me telling me it was that special Season. Yes, it was my favorite time of year. I could almost forget there a threat out there. Almost. Amasis’ hair had begun to grow out and Gabriella came early to give him a haircut. In the clothes we had gotten him, he and Amir were looking like they did belong in this century. We had

    Chapter 2

Okay, I am not big on phone sex. It did nothing for me, sorry, but I can relate to the bombshell moment when you meet that special guy and just KNOW it. I had that in church! I saw, the man who was my future husband, and knew...he was going to important to me. Why? It was just a feeling, but it came true! I asked HIM out the first time and was so nervous, we were planning a dance. (This is not in North Meets South. This really happened. It was an MCC Church.) He and I were on the committee and I was so nervous! I went to him and said. "Since you're going to the dance, and I'm going to the dance. Maybe we should go together." Then I hurried and said. "It doesn't have to be a date or anything." He grinned and said. "I'd be honored." HONORED! No one says that. Yep, I was in love. And that's not fiction!
  20. The flight was pretty uneventful. Well, there was that little bumpiness over the mid-Atlantic, but it wasn’t bad. Amir was pretty amused by it. He had seen planes and knew what they were, so he was fine. It was as I said it would be. Amasis let go of the arm of the seat and once he realized we weren’t falling or crashing, he relaxed and fell asleep. He even woke after a few hours and asked what every parent heard from children on long trips. “Are we there yet?” Colin looked up at Amasis.
  21. Amasis was staring at the destruction in disbelief. Colin came up behind Amasis and put his hands on Amasis’ shoulders. “It’s not gone. It’s just secured.” I came up also and took Amasis’ hand. “We need to go,” I said calmly and led him further toward the SUVs. That was another thing Amasis wasn’t ready for. Amir came up and got behind Amasis. “I told you about these chariots that didn’t need horses.” He waved at one of the vehicles. Amasis nodded. “You did, son,” Amasis said in
  22. Now we risked usage but kept it at key times, but Mark was poised in front of a computer often watching this group move. Amasis was just…fascinated by the computer. “This…” he pointed at the screen, “…isn’t magic?” He asked with a sound that it was incredible and had to be magic. “There is a magic window here. You see them, but they can’t see you. They are so far away! How can you do this?” I nodded. “It is magic.” I smiled at Amasis. “It’s the magic of science.” I put an arm around hi

    The Queen Is Dead

    Blue's a nice color. Gabriella's favorite.
  24. I came in where Amasis was waking up. The idea of telling him was…I didn’t know what to say to him, but the truth. He looked at me and smiled as I sat beside him. “It didn’t let up,” Amasis said. “It hurt every bit as much last night.” “No, it doesn’t let up until we give you the other…when your body’s ready,” I admitted. I wasn’t really able to disguise that something happened. He lost his wife. Amasis looked in my eyes and his smile faded. “What happened?” “I don’t do well-stri
  25. Amasis woke and was a little groggy and said something that the translator couldn’t understand. From his inflection, in his original language form of “damn.” He rubbed his chest. “Yes. Knowing it will hurt and experiencing were two different things.” I smiled and nodded. “Yes.” We helped him sit up more. “I agree with that first remark…whatever you said…everyone that goes on the serum says an equivalent.” Colin smiled also at Amasis. “You look better!” He did! He had moisture in his
