A burka is that garment Muslim women wear. It is a black dress/robe that covers a woman from head to toe. Nothing about a woman is shown. Only the eyes can be seen.

We were still very concerned with what Tad Morsi was up to. He knew we were not in town but came to the house. Why? Colin and I were enjoying this underground palace and city. Amasis was actually a nice guy! The fact that he wasn’t a god seemed to take some pressure off the man. Colin rolled over and scooped me up in his arms and snuggled down next to me. He knew I wasn’t asleep, but I’d had a tough few days. I grinned as his arms brought me even closer to him. “Hi, Colin.”

Colin held my hands to his lips. “Now, we’ll go get some serum.” I smiled but wasn’t going. “Well, I intend to, but not yet.” Colin’s eyes grew. “Why? He saw you were a vampire! You need to get this under control! He knows!” I nodded and ran my fingers over Colin’s face. “I know and believe me, I will. I hate all this.” I shook my head. “And you went through this every day for almost two centuries!? I heard what you said about it, but having this one day! Two?” I hugged him again. “I

I could have gone with Colin, but he insisted I remain with Amasis and Nabia. I didn’t like being left behind, but we had gotten Amasis and Nabia asking questions or at least thinking there could be more to this life he had. Amir’s village was northwest of this tomb? Palace? It was…a mountain of rock. The village was two miles away. Underground! Remember, this had been built over hundreds of years, but you could travel through sandstorms and undisturbed by thieves and other raiders underground.

We were definitely in another world now. We were underground, but we contacted Stan and Mark and told them we were fine. There was nothing in these rocks to prevent us from making contact. They reported no problem on their end. Colin sat up and stretched. “Do you get a cup of coffee in Egypt?” He asked worriedly. I grinned. “They do now, but I don’t think they had it back then.” I smiled at the look on his face. He was worried about that. I shook my head. “I’m afraid they may not. This i

We went with Tad Morsi to the remote site and I scanned the writing there on the walls. Once that was done, Colin and I were done. The computer did its job reading the writings and we even printed out the translation. We also said we had a little business to take care of, we might have to go somewhere but would be back. “Business?” Dr. Morsi asked. “Definitely.” Colin nodded. Stan did scan the map to Buddy and used his own digital map to see the land better. He then saw the

We did go to sleep but woke up after a few hours to reset our bodies to this time zone. Now, I felt that lag because of the changes. We woke after sunset, but it was important we try to adjust. “Why are we orienting ourselves?” I asked Colin as he rolled to regain a comfortable spot. “Vampires are night creatures.” “Not this one,” Colin said with his voice muffled in the pillows. I heard him sigh and roll over and then sat up. “This is one time I really need that coffee.” I gave him

That week was agony again for me; more so for Mom and Willie. By the end of the week, Mom and Willie were back. Colin called Tad Morsi to tell him we were arriving at the beginning of the next week. He also emailed Amasis and told him were we coming, but didn’t know where Tad Morsi was housing us. Tad Morsi was still insisting he was making the arrangements. Gio had brought sketches to us and we told what we wanted of the drawings he brought. We got it all together and loaded up. We, a

I never said they couldn't. In fact, I said again and again, others could. The program will do it. There are those that can. They would like to see if this program can do it, too. Using the databases from other resources, and Buddy, they might have...I know it happens...less confusion when it comes to certain words and their meaning. Can Delkenzie do it faster, more thoroughly? We'll see. Imagine you're a student and not well versed in reading the hieroglyphics. You can make mistakes. Unless the man that can read it is there, you don't know. But with this program and scanner, you don't have to wait. A scan and you simply look at the screen. Not everyone can read hieroglyphics easily. This device makes it possible for ANYONE to read them, with the program and scanner.

Colin frowned. “Mister Big Bucks?” He said looking not too sure. Mark nodded. “Huge bucks! You’re not just a man with money…” he shook his head. “No, you’re a man with a hell of a whole lot of money! Above everyone else, whether they see that or not. You will be expecting them to treat you that way. It’s understood! You’re a billionaire!” Colin shook his head. “I’ve not really done anything like that.” Mark looked as to why we couldn’t understand what he was saying. “Yes, you did!” H

I went to get Mitch’s latte…and mine. Bertie quickly shooed me out of her kitchen and promised to bring us coffees. I went back to the library where Colin and Mitch were getting more acquainted. They were sitting apart as if Colin didn’t quite trust this new guest. I frowned at Colin as I sat beside him on the sofa. “I hope you like a big coffee, I got us both large ones,” I said smiling. “I do!” Mitch nodded. “At Starbucks, I get a venti every time.” I smiled. “Wish they had venti,

The days were drawing to a close on our time with the Thornwood vampires. They were sending a vehicle for the woman in London to work with Jeremy. We were having a great time with the other people. People were now coming from other parts of England. Not all the vampires were just in the areas surrounding Thornwood. The new employees of Thornwood were serving us great meals. They had jobs now. This new chef was amazing. He hadn’t cooked in quite a while. He drank blood for so long and what he cou

Emily was again looking at the house more. She wasn’t feeling that comfortable at the moment. The opulence and grandeur were a bit hard for her to get used to. However, Jeremy was truly relaxing, but only with the animals. The adjustment was not as stressful as Emily feared it would be. That was as long as Jeremy stayed with the animals. He was opening up more and he was beginning to make friends with these “strangers.” It was Wednesday afternoon when the Rolls came to the front door and St

What Willie and Mom were planning we left to her and Gabriella to plan. I was worried about what Willie was going to wear, but Colin told me to leave it alone. He was a grown man and could handle it himself. If I knew my mother, she had him dressed already, all Willie needed to do was show up. I didn’t like it, but I did leave it alone. It was a little startling the number of “close friends” we now had. Most were new vampires that were now on serum. It made sense, Mom had been there with most as

Getting Wayne Prepared For The World
R. Eric commented on R. Eric's story chapter in Getting Wayne Prepared For The World
I only drove in England twice and never, I mean NEVER in London. I was channeling my feelings when I wrote that part. I was a nervous wreck! In the U.S. we can turn right when the light's red, do they do the same in England? I wasn't taking the chance about turning left on red. It would make sense to, but I wasn't challenging that. I know the M5! By the time got to where we needed to be, I was exhausted! I determined after two times on English roads, if I needed to go somewhere, I'd hire a driver. The countryside was nice, but no way was a daring to drive in THAT city. -
Now that things were shaping up for the vampires in England. Our focus could shift a little from what was happening here and think about what our next step should be. We had contacted Director Mattingly about Wayne’s passport and it would be coming to Thornwood. Sean sent the drawing about his ideas about the medical and housing building for future vampires. When built, they could do five vampires at once if needed to house and the rooms could be closed off from any sunlight or open to let that

Colin and Devon find others

Things did get a little more crowded at the house. As I mentioned before, we knew the wedding and guests were here, but other than the occasional wandering wedding party guest, they were doing their own thing. Colin and I spent time with Sean, who turned out to be everything I thought he’d be. He was wickedly funny and had a great sense of humor. We were in the library when Kelly walked in a little dejected. Sean looked at his youngest. “What’s wrong, baby?” Sean asked her. She shook he

The VUNGB. Construction Begins
R. Eric commented on R. Eric's story chapter in The VUNGB. Construction Begins
Yes, they go...elsewhere. Every gay man is known as Friends of Dorothy. The Wicked Witch of the West in her attempts to get the Ruby Slippers. "I'll get you...and you're little dog, too!" -
The VUNGB. Construction Begins
R. Eric commented on R. Eric's story chapter in The VUNGB. Construction Begins
Patience my pet. In the words of one of my favorite witches, "All in good time. These things need to work out delicately." If you don't know who said that, hand in your gay card! I have a ton of stuff for this story. I may have to write a third story! -
We went on to try to find someone from OUR group. With the increase in personnel, we had to look! We wandered through the house looking for Chuck, Shelly, Mom or anybody. “We’re still looking for vampires here, right?” Wayne asked as we walked in our search. Colin nodded. “Of course, but we need to increase our ability to hold vampires.” We spotted Nigel. I smiled at Nigel. “Where is everyone?” Nigel looked puzzled. “By everyone, you mean those you've seen aren’t anyone?” I g

I looked to see if Katie was hurt, but bounced a little seeing she wasn’t. “That could have been much worse,” I said to Colin as I grinned. Colin grabbed Wayne’s arm to keep him from going to Katie’s side. Sean looked back at his wife and ran to her. “Katie!” He said lifting her head. “Katie, darlin’.” He cradled her head in his lap and slapped her lightly on the cheeks. The woman was an attractive woman in her late forties and dressed in a nice pair of slacks and blouse like they had be

I watched as Wayne was absorbing what I’d told him. He knew he had a child coming, but now he was a grandfather; from a daughter, he didn’t know about. “Grandchildren.” He said quietly, still in shock. I chuckled. “Yes, Wayne, grandchildren.” I walked toward him. “This is what’s called a Tablet. I’ll explain the science, but…here are some pictures.” I held the tablet’s screen so he could see. “There are others. Just take your finger and slide like so.” I ran it across the screen, but brought

It was horrible to watch and even though I knew it was for the best…my emotional attachment was making it worse. I loved Colin. It hurt me to watch him go through this, but…Wayne was…agonizing. Even Dr. Hathaway was cringing a bit. “Is there nothing you can give him for the pain?” George shook his head. “With the venom in him, it wouldn’t work. There’s no pain relief I can give.” He said helplessly. “When he gets the serum to a level I can, but until it does…” Even Director Maddingly
