“Miss Thorne.” The judge began. “You are charged with assault on royal members of the family of Blethos. Which alone merits a death penalty. And you are charged with a murder of a citizen of Blethos.” “What!?” Deena repeated. “You killed Devon Collins, a guard in the employ of the people of Blethos that was to guard the royal members of the family of Blethos. Which you admitted, attested by Prince Erik or Blethos and by Rollin Wilkins.” “The guard!?” Deena repeated. “He was nothing!

As Seth and I relaxed, I heard a bell. The tone and what it meant, I didn’t get alarmed. Seth raised his head at the sound. “Is it okay if I see you?” Demetrius’ voice asked softly. “Sure,” I answered. Demetrius came in the room out of the shadows. “Where the fuck were you!?” Seth growled, demanding very angrily. “Erik and I were almost killed! I was seconds from being raped! They were going to rape both of us! Me, which Erik was supposed to watch happen!!” Demetrius nodded s

“My life is over,” Deena repeated, then she moved in closer her eyes ablaze with hatred. “My life was over the minute you crossed into Blethos’ territory!” She shouted, then thought. “No, that’s not quite true. It was over when King Alexander wrote that damned letter to your brother, proposing the marriage of one of his family to a royal member of your family.” She reached and grabbed a pot used for boiling water for tea. Then she swung it as hard as she could hit me in the jaw! I never understo

Grimm's fairy tale version of Cinderella was very gory. I eluded to it in the beginning of the first page. The cutting off of toes to fit the glass slipper, the eyes gouged out by crows. It was not a child's tale. How different for a gay version? Women are often more cruel because it's not what we think women are capable of. Hated gay men shouldn't be

This isn't fairy tale. Not this time. It takes place on a fairy tale world, but there will be some violence. Erik's already been assaulted by Deena. But trust me.

We never left ourselves unprotected. There were men that patrolled the outside and grounds. There were a few incidents we weren’t sure about. Like the new lamps in the town to make it safe for the night were all damaged. It had to be deliberate. All of them!? The small tax was implemented on all items purchased. The budget was fine. We even hired a couple of men to walk the streets at night to watch for whoever was doing the damage and any wrongdoing. The damage to the lamps could have been a pr

“This may take a while,” I said as I sat, Seth sitting next to me. I mean, right next to me. No air between us. “We have time,” Samuel said sitting, too, ready to listen. Telling him, he listened for the hour or more we told him what we knew. He never interrupted, listening intently. Something he’d learned to do since becoming king. Then when we were done he sat forward with a sigh. “They knew this was happening?” Samuel asked. “But did nothing to stop it.” “From what I und

Chapter 2 Cleaning up Thorne Damage
R. Eric commented on R. Eric's story chapter in Chapter 2 Cleaning up Thorne Damage
You have a guy. Whether it's 300, 500 or even 800 years ago living a life no one then imagined. He's modern man, planning progressive ideas. He's educated! He can see the rewards with happy employees. He never said "leave," he said she wouldn't loose her job. Thorne would let her go. They'd be on the street! She's a good worker. The person hired to replace her might not be. He knows that. Educated, remember? -
Some non-fairy things may happen. This ain't Disney.

You never saw the movie with Reeves and the vineyard where they had them? They had a lovely dance sort of motion in that. "Walking in the Clouds" I think it was. No dancing here. More coming!

We had a good breakfast and a small party at the house for my birthday. Michael was learning to talk and seemed to be interested in everything. He was not quite two years old, but growing fast. Dark hair like his father, grandfather, and uncle, but had a face that more resembled his mother. He’d be a heartbreaker, too. He was babbling to his grandfather who listened, seeming to understand him perfectly. Nodding with a smile at the little boy. “You’ve got a great thing here, Seth.” Samuel sig

We decided a party was just what the people would need and enjoy. Thorne might have been their employer, but he spent little time with the people that made his success. And little time in the vineyard or winery. A week after Seth and I celebrated my birthday and our anniversary was when it was to be. We were providing the food and wine. The news of what we were intending spread fast. People were getting excited and preparing the square and making plans on how to celebrate. All the while, Seth an

A year! Seth and I were approaching a year! Time was flying by. The first weeks had been hectic, but now that we lived in The Royal Valley, it had calmed down. Seth was very happy to be in the vineyard. That was what he’d done for almost twenty years. He seemed to be at peace, most of the time. I was doing the business portion. Ledgers and inventory. The wine we produced was top quality and a proud people in The Royal Valley were a very important part of what we did here. Our wine was the town’s

Reviewing events for the past year, I am surprised how things came about. I’m Prince Erik, formally of A’Dore. Now, I still have my title, but I go by Erik of Blethos. A’Dore and Blethos are neighboring kingdoms. While we never went to war with Blethos, things could get a little tense. Especially along our borders. Where did A’Dore end and Blethos start? But we shared the border and traded with each other for many centuries. My brother is the King of A’Dore. Having succeeded our father to the th

The story of Erik and Seth Continues

Fortunately, we had other sheets for the bed. A simple change and I’d do the laundry in the morning. We had a river. We needed to find something to prevent this from being a daily, if not twice or more a day occurrence. I went down to the river and splashed some water on me to at least rinse off. Seth unfastened the horses and put a feed bag of grain on each of them. Then he turned seeing me, his eyes grew. I hadn’t bothered putting on my pants. Why? There was no one around. “Erik! Someone c

Honeymoon part 1, done.

Seth and I looked over what supplies we had gathered. Storing them where we could easily get to them if needed. “…and we’ve got the grain for the horses,” Seth reported as I marked it from my list. He stood, as much as he could, he was too tall to stand up straight in the carriage. Then again, so was I, but not like he was. Those few inches made a difference. “So, is that it?” I nodded. “It is.” I grinned. “And we both know the road to take to Seaside Vista, right?” I looked at him firml

“One thing?” I asked, but sort of knew what he was going to say. Seth nodded and took my hand. “In our room.” He looked back. “Don’t go far, Dad.” Alex grinned at his son and nodded. He knew, too. Calling him Dad made him very happy. Once in our room, Seth closed the door and leaned against it. “What I’m going to tell you…” he was now shaking. “…could end us…as a couple.” Tears started forming in his eyes. “I’m giving the crown to Samuel.” Then he hurried on. “I’m not a king! Chapter 13 The Crime and The Punishment
R. Eric commented on R. Eric's story chapter in Chapter 13 The Crime and The Punishment
That thought occurred to me, it what was her crime? Her father did it all. She was guilty of being a crappy person, self-centered and shallow. Got put yourself above those things to prove you're better. Isn't that what they did? Who was better? Fairy Tales are to teach lessons. So, let's get with the learning. -
No matter what, there will be those that think themselves superior. Above rules. The Secret Santa was a good way to knock people out of "how things are."

I knew I would be wrong using Danish. Then again, I knew I would be using French,German and don't forget, Norwegian!
