  1. Trips are so much nicer when you’re with people you like. It’s even better with someone you love. We were having a great time. But the day was ending so we headed back to the hotel. There I asked for the computer to use and directed to the guest area where there were several. I logged in the email server and sent the pictures we’d taken and then went up to the suite. Tony had gone ahead while I was sending the pictures. I entered the suite and heard the water running, but it wasn’t the shower. I

    Chapter 26

Problems in families is a constant thing. Dislike and offenses are just there. Foolish or not, serious or not...the fact is I did do all the research to find out my roots and what history I could get. Your family wasn't the only one.

    Chapter 26

One more chapter about Scotland, then off to Italy. But before they go, they have one very, romantic dinner before leaving Scotland. Let me say, since I am basically Mitch. This did happen. When I went to Italy to see my husband's roots and where his family came from...I...well...I'll try to convey what my impressions were in this story.
  4. Time change and long travel time we got up shortly before noon. Neither of us wanted to spend our honeymoon in the room. Well, we did want to do that, but we spent a lot of money to get here and both of us wanted to tour Scotland. There would always be later. We were married for life. We were only in Scotland for a few days. We got up, showered and got our things together to see Edinburgh. It would be nice weather wise, but we needed to be prepared. Jeans and pullover shirts with a jacket for ea

    Chapter 25

They started the language, so if they slum letters, I don't mind. We do enough altering English here. And I love a Rolls-Royce. Only rode in one once. But I still remember!!
  6. We weren’t late leaving. But we did change and had the bellmen take our luggage to the van. That was no easy task thanks to Tony’s over packing for everything. But we were taking a Rolls! Yes! A Rolls Royce! That was pretty exciting! I’d never ridden in a Rolls Royce. And it was this dark red, whatever color that ladies and gay queens say a color is. I think it’s all made up. It was one of those older ones, but very nice! It was after eleven and our flight was at one. With all those pieces of lu

    Chapter 24

And now you know what was under the kilt. The real "Jean" was also as understanding when I married her ex-husband. Again, this story was based on what really happened. I was stunned.

    Chapter 24

    That was my aim!
  9. When I say this, it’s a tough thing to understand. Time was playing with me. In many ways time just crept by. Then I was startled when it was time to dress for the wedding. Weird, isn’t it? So, I took another shower. Then with all my clothes laid out, I got dressed. Dad arrived as I was doing that. Looking very much like the preacher he always was. He smiled at me as he hugged me. “This will be a great day, son,” Dad said smiling. I nodded. “Thank you.” There were so many things to tha
  10. Now that a lot of our family was here, we began to rehearse. Our ceremony was going to be a little different. There was no bride to come down the aisle. We were meeting from opposite sides in front of both Rev. Pat and Rev. Terry. There we would exchange vows and rings. Then the two of us would go down the aisle together when we left. There were three pipers coming, one drummer. They had sent me some CDs of the songs which I chose. There was a song to play when we came in and a recessional. I re

    Chapter 22

Girls were often warned about guys wearing shiny shoes that stood too close. But this will sort of be an ongoing joke for a chapter, maybe two.
  12. As time was getting close, there were things that needed to be done. Like me making sure I had everything I needed to be married in proper Scottish attire. Tony looked at the things on the bed. “Okay, you’re wearing all this.” I chuckled. “I am. I’m descended from Highlanders, I have to.” Tony nodded. “And all this is….” He looked. “What?” I held my dress sporran. It was an ornate leather pouch. “Do you see any pockets?” I asked. “This is basically a purse. Essentially, we in

    Chapter 21

Next year there is more. So, tonight, we begin the wedding. There is more. A lot more.

    Chapter 21

Hello, Canada! No, it's not just the rural South. It seems to be almost universal, and we shouldn't be so tight lipped about sex or human development. But we are. I look back now and see it mostly as humorous. It's all funny if you look at it. Dad couldn't play an game where you told things about yourself or partner. He would get so frustrated and red faced. It was funny!!

    Chapter 21

You think I'm done? No way. I've got a few more YEARS to cover.

    Chapter 21

And what I said about talking about body parts was true. No one ever spoke about the parts of the body. If they had to, it was like I said. The butt was a seat, and never mention penis. Not a pecker, cock...nothing. It was very sad.
  17. I was waiting for something I had ordered for Tony to arrive. It was going to be fun to see him react. Valentine’s Day was approaching. No, it wasn’t anything romantic, but I thought it was funny. I knew he would. I made dinner for the two of us. Dimmed the lights and waited for him to come home. When he arrived, I saw the roses and shook my head. “You send me a rose almost every week.” He shrugged. “I didn’t know what to get you. You’re getting me in two months.” I kissed him as I s

    Chapter 20

I'll let you know that after I put it on. Or rather Mitch does.
  19. Maybe I’m not gay enough. Talking about having the wedding at Biltmore Inn and reception, I was beginning to tire of talking about it. They were catering the food being served, but we had to decide on the menu. Then there were decisions to make about what the food would be. Were there allergies some of our guests might have? Were there vegetarians? Then there were the banquet facilities. There was a garden attached where the wedding would be if it wasn’t raining. The ceremony was a crap shot

    Past Horror

Even now he has problems with it. It was really bad right afterwards, but he's adjusting. Like I said in the story. I can't understand because I didn't see it. But I know how it affected my husband. All I could do it be there and listen.
  21. The year had begun and things went to that comfortable rhythm. I worked, Tony worked and we loved being together. My renewed passport arrived and then plans were being made for the Commitment Ceremony. Tony and I contacted both Grove Park Inn and Biltmore. We decided a ceremony at Biltmore was the best route to take. And there would be rooms available in the Biltmore Inn. Tony said he and I would be leaving for our honeymoon afterward, so we only needed a place to change clothes, but we had a gr
  22. I had barely gotten in the door when my phone rang on the desk. I smiled seeing Alan Belosik’s name on the ID. “I just got in!” I said without bothering to say hello. “I had to know,” Alan said. “Did it go well? Did they like you? Did you like them?” I chuckled hearing his questions. “Yes to all those questions.” “What did you do there?” Alan asked. “Did you go to the Phantom of the Opera?” “Yes, we did,” I answered. “I’ll tell you in more detail on Tuesday.” “But i
  23. We arrived at the MCCNY, as I explained before if I wasn’t with Tony I would be hopelessly lost. I know the city is full of numbered streets, odds one way and evens the other and if you knew where you were and where you were going, just follow the numbers! But I had Tony, so why figure it out? Entering I knew we weren’t in a Church in the South. And it really didn’t feel Baptist at all. Tony had been right about the people that attended here, they did dress a whole lot better. The men here did l

    Chapter 16

The Pope did say they owed us an apology. But that's later in time. Even marriage is still illegal at the time. And Melissa's words to the Nun did happen. That wasn't fiction!
  25. We did take the carriage ride and it was very romantic. I was enjoying this trip. I was learning a lot about Tony. I looked up at the dark sky. “I always heard the stars can’t be seen in New York.” I commented. “Now I know it’s true.” Tony pointed to the many lights around us. “We make our own stars.” Then he reached in his coat pocket. “We agreed to not buy presents for each other…and this really isn’t a Christmas present.” He pulled a small box out. “But I’m giving it to you now…I want
